I'm not sure what the weather has been like lately in your respective parts of the world, but I thought I would share this since it befits a PT audience! Over the past week or so the weather has been very cold over much of the South and East of the UK, and London has had several bouts of snow. Most of it has by now melted away, although we still have a little bit around where I live with my flatmates. It's possibly the first time I've been aware of snow in the South and not the North (according to my parents back home, they didn't get any lately).

These were taken last week in Regents Park, when one of my flatmates and I created a snowdog against the conventional snowmen. :) He proved rather popular with passers-by, a couple of which wanted a photo with him, although sadly no newspaper photographers (who often scout round the London parks looking for good snowy snaps for the morning papers) - none that we know of, anyway! :p

As vet students, we tried to make him relatively accurate!

Very lifelike indeed. And you even gave the little guy a scarf to keep warm too. Well Zara, if you decide that you don't want to be a vet, you could make it as a sculptress! :D

Just got home from visiting my daughter at a college diving meet, it was 80 degrees! Our weather here is more like around 60 degrees, still pretty unseasonably warm. I had heard on the news about the cold in Europe, stay warm!

This is one of the cutest things I've ever seen! It looks very lifelike. Send some snow over this way, Zara! It's been flurrying all day, but not laying on the ground at all.

I think that your sculpture is so well done it SHOULD get a photo in the local papers!

Thank you, everyone! Glad you all liked him. Ellie - indeed, that was my scarf we put on him, and it was rather cold when I put it back on! The things I'll do for 'animals'... :p

This is way too cute!! I love how he even had a little stick, if that was intentional. :D I agree he looks very realistic. :) I enjoyed this immensely, very cute.

More thank yous! :D

Do you still have snow? We haven't seen any.

Very little, now. As I look out my window onto the side streets, there's a few remaining patches where people don't walk much. We had a little flurry on Thursday and I think that's the last of it. I walked down to college today with scarf and gloves and ended up having to take them off half way there because I got too hot - so think the temperature's on the way up! In which case I don't believe the star of this thread is in existence any more... but I'm glad he's still making people smile!

It is indeed unusual for the south to get snow and the northern parts of the UK to miss it. At home apparently it's been bitterly cold and a touch frosty in the mornings, but no snow.

Wow, that's really a great job. That really should have been printed in your newspaper, the doggie looks great :)
