George's (http://CatoftheDay.com/archive/2011/October/23.html) dad sent me this and asked that I share it with everyone!

"Tom Hanks cowered in a corner, afraid of loud noises. Kevin Spacey was nervous going into a crate but could be bribed with cheese.

As for Sylvester Stallone,he arrived with a note that said, "Bonks them all but then lays down looking innocent."

This only sounds like a A-list celebrity party. In fact, the stars of Shannon Keith's Thanksgiving day party were 16 beagles - part of a group of 40 beagles rescued from a research laboratory in Spain and flown to LAX on Wednesday night to start new lives with foster families.

Keith, founder of the Beagle Freedom Project, led the effort to free 40 beagles that had been bred for scientific experiments and product testing. ..."

A friend of ours has twice adopted beagles that were lab beagles, and it has been an adventure each time, teaching them about things like grass, cars ... but they were both great dogs!

What a story. I saw this on the news last night. I hope these little guys can all get loving homes and learn how to just be dogs, with the help of their human companions.

Yup, saw it on the news. They showed one taking his first tentative steps on GRASS as he stepped out of his carrier.

Blessings on all these sweeties!

It's just SO sad how people can do that to such loving sweet dogs. My parents have a beagle named Copper and he is the most loving dog. I am seriously considering doing therapy with him. Hope all those dogs found loving homes.
