My mini blinds have looked like this for some time now
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/kasdesign/window7.jpg

I usually find a cat looking out like this -- Trixie bit two new slats off this morning
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/kasdesign/window6.jpg

Pretty ingenious design for looking outside.

Mikey noticed the bigger opening and walked through the peep hole
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/kasdesign/window2.jpg

and he looked so proud of himself on the other side of the blinds
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/kasdesign/window1.jpg

Trixie decided to attack Mikey (darn no flash! sorry its blurry)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/kasdesign/window4.jpg

I quickly turned on the flash.

Yup, those blinds are officially history now.

LOL, I love the peep hole they made for themselves! :D
So glad you got the flash on. Too cute! Sorry about the blinds though.

Oh, what funny pictures! Thank you. They certainly did a fine job of adapting those blinds to your household requirements.

And you can see clearly from the pictures just WHAT HARD WORK it is being a cat!

What fun they had! :D They must think that you put up the blinds for them just for the purpose to play. Sorry they are ruined, but you cats are not bored. ;)

Hubby came downstairs later and asked, "what happened to the blinds?!"

I told him Trixie and Mikey had a lot of fun destroying them. They're still up... they show we have attack cats on the premesis!

I suppose Trixie was just telling me its time to get new blinds. Maybe I'll get new ones (they're a whole $2 at Walmart). If I ever remember to measure the window and keep the dimensions in my head. Oh well, maybe attack cat mini blinds will become the cool rage this season - ummmm, year.

Oh lets face it, the new blinds would look like this pair in a matter of hours. I design around cats and their entertainment!

Oh, mercy, did my Chip wear off on your sweet babies?

My blinds have looked like that for quite a while. The one over the kitchen sink has end pieces missing just like the first picture. :D:love:

Every set of blinds in my house looks like that... *sigh*
It's just an unfortunate kitty side effect. But I love my kitties way more than I love my blinds.

Great pics! Made me laugh. I have to share this with my brother. He has a blind-loving cat as well.

It looks like such a fun game for them. :p

I guess they wanted to see outside. I stopped using blinds years ago and put up curtains. However, in your case the cats would probably shred curtains. Good Luck!

Hehe these pictures made me laugh! Especially the ones with the peep hole, how cute.

When I was younger we had a kitten and she would tear up the blinds and climb up the curtains. My dad would always buy new curtains and blinds, but they would just have the same fate, scratched, broken and ripped! I guess cats just find this fun and entertaining! :p

It sure looks like they had a lot of fun.:) This is why I now have shades instead of blinds.;)

I like the pretty ingenious design in the second picture -- and the one of Mikey peeking out from behind the blind! Awwww!

Oh what fun they had! That peep hole was a wonder, lol.

This house had blinds when I bought it. They were replaced with shades before we moved in (I had 4 cats back then). And NO curtains, just valances.

When Eddie first came to live with us he was so, so frightened! He lived in our basement for a while. We did not see him. Slowly he came out. He created Fort McFarland by "modifying" the mini-blinds. That way he could watch us from the safety of his fort.

Thanks for the memory!:love::love:

I no longer have mini blinds in living room. I went broke replacing them literally it seems every other week there for a while. It wasn't the cats but the dogs that ruined them. :( So now I have nice drapes up and they can look out and not destroy anything.

The National Alliance for Miniblind Manufacturing puts catnip in the blinds.

That way the cats will destroy the blinds and make you buy more.....

I've had vertical blinds for years now. So far, kitty-proof!:D

ONLY us cat-lovers would EVER see the humor in this, and actually take pictures and post them PROUDLY to tell the story! :D I have blinds built into my window on my front door now, so I can't even touch them, let alone my fur babies! :D

This morning when I was walking the dogs, I passed a house where a cat obviously lives. One of the second story windows bore witness to that fact; the mini blinds were twisted, contorted, and hanging at an angle, one side higher than the other.

I started laughing and couldn't stop, because I remembered this thread and how hysterically funny it was when I first read it. My Tippy, eight months old, hasn't destroyed the blinds in the house YET, but I'm pretty sure it will be on his agenda soon.

Thanks for the memories!

That is just part of living with cats! GOTTA LOVE IT!! Caramella is ruining my shades! I have had shades all these years with my other girls and none of them have done ANY damage... Caramella is ripping them UP! But, I love my baby girl and I'll gladly buy more shades..
