My Blackberry used to belong to another person. I re-activated it with my number, and all has been well for the better part of a year.

Today I get messages on my Blackberry Messenger - which I DON'T use - under the previous owner's name wishing her Happy Birthday.

I have not found a way on Google to get this function inactivated or etc on my BB.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Smart phone apps can also be managed online. Somehow your phone apps are still associated with her number or her email. Take it to your store or call customer service to walk you through the process.

Or it could just be a glitch in the system.

I'll never own another BlackBerry.

The Blackberry Messenger uses the phone's PIN number. Have you tried deleting BBM? Go to Options...Applications...pick Add-on from the drop down menu...find BBM and then use the BB button and choose delete.

YAAY! Thanks, Moesha - I knew there had to be a way to delete it! :D

I just bought a new smart phone (HTC Rhyme) and need to wipe the data off my Blackberry before I donate it.

First, send messages back to those who wished a happy birthday, signing with the original owners name, but attach your address, and ask for money. :D
Second, get rid of the blackberry, move house, and you'll have the money you have received to spend.
That's what I would do.

No, that in the "Strawberry Question" thread.

I think this is the best suggestion yet. Be specific in how much money you want in the messages too. :p

True. And ensure the amount of money is written in figures AND letters in triplicate, otherwise ya might be subjected to a law suit from Lizbud. :D

LOL! Wom you crack me up sometimes. I needed that laugh this morning. Things are pretty somber here at the office. It's like the walking dead around here. I can almost hear the death march.
