I just need to share it because I can't believe it.
Last winter, I resigned from my position with a rescue I had worked with for years. There had been many disagreements within the rescue regarding a lot of things, but the biggest issue was placing dogs in homes that weren't appropriate for them, and issues took place in those homes.
In July, one of my great friends and I started our own rescue:

We weren't planning on it so soon, but in July, while driving to the beach on a stormy night just past midnight, I found an abused, neglected, wet, starving dog. She was full of burrs and ticks. She tested positive for heartworm. The Humane Society here was going to euthanize her, but agreed to release her to us if we had her treated. We had a garage sale to fundraise for her care. She received treatment, and is doing amazing.
Since then, we have taken in 3 other dogs. 1 of them just went on his trial with a new home.
Right now, we are running it out of our pockets as there are many rescues here, and we haven't been able to promote ourselves to a noticeable level yet.
I just wanted to share this with you all, and ask for you to share and spread the word, no matter where you are!
This is where you can find us on the web.
