Had to go and see the buns of course and noticed that many did not have water, nor did the chickens.
So I spent an hour giving these sweet creatures water. It was truly hot and humid. Around 90* and it hurt my heart to see them without water.
I had just given this sweetheart water and he was so greatful. He dunked his whole head in.

In the middle of these lovely roses, it smelled like heaven. Too bad it was so hot and muggy.

Poor Steve looks so tired. An hour and a half walking in the heat really wore us out.

After a day at the fair well actually two days we went shopping. Columbus has tons of beautiful places to shop. Easton and Polaris are two truly upscale and fun places to go.
We only went into stores that are not in our area at home.
One fun place was the Container Store where I found a bracelet holder which I had been looking for, for ever. So many neat ideas.
The had a Tiffany and a Saks. Both tons of fun.
A perfume store, don't remember what it was called both it was french, it was divine.
Wonderful places to eat, night clubs, movies, a comedy club. The list goes on and on.
We had a blast.
We went from watering rabbits and roosters to shopping at Tiffany and Saks. Best of both worlds.

Great pics! Heard Brad Paisley played there tonight as well. Wish I was there. I miss Columbus quite a bit. Nothing like it - has a lot to do rather than here in Cleveland on weekends..

I need to go to a Container Store, too. I need a bracelet holder and a necklace holder.

Why is it called the Talking Tree? Nice pic of you in the rose garden. Love your hair color.

Great pictures, Monica. :) Those cakes are incredible! I can't imagine how long they must take to perfect.

How kind of you to give the animals water. In temperatures as high as you say, they would have been in real danger of dehydration. Was there some sort of official on hand that you could have highlighted the problem to? I don't suppose every time shows like that are held, that there is a caring person such as yourself about to lend a hand.

Thank you, Monica. What wonderful pictures, and what a delightful outing that must have been!

Thank you also and God bless you for looking after the animals and giving them water. I wonder if there are officials at such events who are supposed to oversee the care of animals on exhibit.

Look at the tree again Mary, pic 8 and 9. It is a suit and a man is in it. He walks and talks. And gives tree hugs. It was fab.
I need to go to a Container Store, too. I need a bracelet holder and a necklace holder.

There were people sitting by a table, owners or breeders of the buns, maybe judges or people who signed you in. Not sure. As soon as I saw the buns I noticed that many had no water or that the drinking cans were dirty. So I mentioned it, and after waiting 5 minutes in the heat of that barn I could not stand it any more and asked where the water was, he directed me to the watering can and water. Steve opened cages for me, so I could clean the little water cups. Some were really dirty. Some were spilled and dry as a bone. I probably filled over 150 between rabbits and roosters and chickens.
They were so grateful. All the animals so sweet and kind and grateful. It was hot and I was sweating but I was also happy in my heart to help. My soul sang when I saw the buns drink the cool water. At one point I was so tired Steve filled the water up for me and did some too. Once he saw how thirsty they were and how they drank right away he helped with a true heart.
One would think being a bun owner that the rabbits stole my heart but it was this rooster who stuck his whole head in and just drank and drank and drank. I went to see him the next day and I do believe he remembered me.
