I'm so excited!! We went to our local PAWS a few weeks ago to apply for a dog, and had a snag in our approval, with our landlord telling them we were only allowed to have one dog--NOT TRUE!!
My husband talked to them, and they called PAWS yesterday, and we have the green light to adopt from them. They're pretty tough, so I think we will be able to adopt from the SPCA if we want also. I can't wait!! We're going to "test" a dog with ours, take him to meet her and put them together for a while, etc, before we commit to anything.

We're looking for anything really, as long as she can get along with our dog. It needs to be a female, and preferrably around 1-4 years old--I want our pup to have a playmate. We are definetely going to the shelter, so probably whatever we come home with. The people at PAWS have picked out a beagle for us to look at and meet, we'll probably set that up soon.

It's great to hear that you will be adopting from a shelter. I wish more people would.

I hope the shelter warned you that some beagles are loud barkers. Or howlers. Your neighbors might not approve.

Is there a reason for wanting a female?

we're going to look at this little girl in an hour

she's around the same age as Kito, a little bigger, and she looks wonderful--we have an appointment, so we'll see what's up!!

I had beagles growing up, just until a few years ago (We miss you Spike:( ), so I know how they can get, and we want a female because Kito will get along better with one, at least that's what we are told. Only time will tell I suppose, but we'll try
