Rose Of Sharons

We had these in our yard when I was growing up. Very pretty.

Rose of Sharon is also known as Althea - which is how I knew, 9 years ago, that Althea was meant to be mine. I'd found her, thrown out in a remote, forested area, blinded in one eye, the other stuck shut with infection; she was about 5 weeks old. The name Althea popped into my head out of nowhere - I have no context for it - and when I learned that it's another name for Rose of Sharon - I knew that Althea had been sent specially to me!:love:

They are lovely. I had some as well but keep getting suckers all over the place and finally had to dig them out. They have very very deep roots.
I hd forgotten however how lovely they were till I saw your pictures.
