Today here at Concordia the actual temperature was 94 degrees with the heat index at 104 degrees F. It hasn't been this hot here since 2002! They're trying to keep the elderly here inside in the air conditioning. How hot was it today where you are?

Muggy, muggy, muggy and humid, they said on the radio it hit 96 in Boston. There was wind, but it was a hot wind, so didn't cool anything down one bit!

I was waiting for the parking lot shuttle in the shade and there was a steady, strong breeze from the south. It wasn't unpleasant and I was glad for the chance to spend time outside for a little while. We got a reminder at work to turn off unnecessary lights and electric equipment, close the blinds and reduce power usage in the non-patient care areas. It's over 90 out. It's supposed to be like this through the weekend.

I've seen what weather you have on CCN, must be awful, especially when it's also humid. More than 20 people have died from heatstroke, not to mention even more animals. :(

Well, I'm quite happy with the 20C/68F we have here, even if it rains. :)

I really don't like to complain about the heat b/c we all know what's coming soon enough. But I have the AC running and a floor fan was blowing directly on me as I got out of the shower and I was STILL sweating. 96 here w/a heat index of 110, although it suddenly got dark and it's thundering, so we may get some rain to give us a break. At least I won't have to water my flowers tonight.

Here in Dallas, we've had 16 consecutive days of triple digit heat. I don't know what the total triple digit days is....Right now, at 3:00 pm, we are sorta having a cold spell....it is only 97 degrees!!

I was outside the Meriden Superior Court today before 9 a.m. and the temp was already 90. My trusty lil red protest shirt was soaked with sweat!!! By the time we got out, it was 109 degrees!!!!

I'm now sitting in my underwear in front of the ac.

Another sizzler in store for today! YUK!

My poor DIL - she has a miserable place to work in this weather She works at the huge, massive, sprawling Walmart Distribution Center in town - a 2 story steel building with a flat roof - and she works on the 2nd level. She said the temp in her work area yesterday was 125. People were passing out, getting, sick, and the night shift was calling in sick. They have huge fans, but all it does is blow hot air. I don't know how she does it.

My son has an ideal job tho. He works at a cold storage (food) facility, and is in and out of the -30 degree freezers all day. The guys there have to wear insulated cold weather gear. :p I want to go to work with him!!!!! :D

We are in the mid- to upper 90's with a thunderstorm just about every day. The temps we are having now usually don't arrive until August. From what I see, from all the weather report across the country, we have been fortunate to be in a near normal pattern. We are cooling down at night and our morning are very nice now. I am in the process of building a courtyard that has really been nice, for the last month, for morning coffee.

So it's 86F (30C) in Chicago today but the humidity is down to 48%. It feels completely different. We've gotten 8 inches of rain over the past 3 or 4 days. The grass looks better and you can actually tolerate being outside longer than a split second.

It's lovely today, in the seventies, grey and rainy - my choice for weather!

It's down a bit, 82F (28C) but the humidity is 75% -- sticky. And July has suddenly turned rainy.

I heard on the news last night that a tropical storm could make landfall around Corpus Christi, Texas -- but they need the rain so that's not exactly a bad thing. Just so it isn't a damage-causing storm.
