You could use that hat to mount that bayonet on & pin the medals on it too. A dual purpose hat. :cool:

Actually, I think the hat will look great adorned with Christmas lights (ones that blink of course), and pretty, shiny ornaments! A Santa pic or figurine would look good in the oval opening right in front, too! :rolleyes::p:D

The hat that sold on eBay was a fake. I have the original pasta model that was sent to me with a jar of Paul Newmans Bolognese Sauce. :D

Wom, do you have to change the ribbons on the medals from World War 1? I have a medal that my mom won for high school band from 1950 and the ribbon is starting to fray. I'm sure the medal isn't worth anything except to my mom and me, and I was thinking of replacing the ribbon.

It depends what shape the ribbon is in. I have some medals where the ribbon is really in bad shape, but I still wish to display them that way. I get a piece of new ribbon, and mount it next to the old medal and ribbon.
I only put new ribbons on the medals that I get that don't have any ribbon on them when I buy them (and there are many that way).
Can you tell me the colour of the ribbon you have ??? It's probably easy to get. Post a pic if you can......I'll see what I can find.
