A dog that was missing after his master's plane crashed near the Alberta – B.C. border has been found.

A Park's Canada team located Rusty, the Border Collie, near the site of Wednesday's crash.

The dog had been missing since the plane went down in Yoho National Park.

Rusty was with his owner on board the aircraft bound for the interior of B.C.

The 60-year-old pilot from Vulcan was found dead in the wreckage when rescue crews searched the gorge on Mount King in the national park.

Parks Canada will deliver the dog to a local veterinarian for an examination.

After spending the night at the veterinary clinic, Rusty will be picked up on Saturday by relatives of the pilot.

I am glad he was found and rescued. Poor boy, but at least he will not only have a home with his owner's relatives, but will be, for them, a little piece of his Dad to comfort them.

He's a beautiful dog. I hope the family members will take him in and not dump him off at the shelter. That's so sad about the pilot.
