Remember Pitzi? She is one of my yard cats, I found her when she was just a few weeks old near the building I work in.
She's not about 4 months old, and yesterday she broke her leg. I called the vet to ask if he can check her and he came although his clinic isn''t open on saturdays.
She is now after a surgery, he put a pin in her leg to put the bone back in place, and we will have to bring her back in a month to remove it. He also spayed her as she was already under anaesthesia... he said she is a real fighter and she recovered very well and acts lke nothing has happen.
we will come to pick her up later today and we should leave her in her carrier for a few days and then let her walk in a room to see how she's doing. He saud that she might be Ok in a few days and will be able to go back outside to her friends... keep your fingers crossed!

Oh poor little Pitzi! :( I hope her leg heals up fine and quick - it probably will at such a young age. A good thing she could get spayed at the same time! :) You're a great cat mum - thanks for helping all of them - and Good luck! ;)

Get well soon Pitzi! :)

I have no idea how she broke it... she was fine friday night, and broken saturday morning... I guess she was climbing something and fell... she lives out side in the yard so I can't keep an eye of her all the time.

We will pick her up from the vet later today and keep her in the house for the next couple of days, just to make sure she's ok.. the vet said she is...

When I lived in the country and my cats were allowed outside, Boo (RIP) came home one night with a broken pelvis. I have no idea how it happened, it was so scary. It healed really fast, he was young and in good shape. I was surprised how fast it healed.

I still can't figure out how it happened, he had been gone for 5 days (I had placed lost cat ads in the paper), and he had to climb up the stairs to out deck to get in - where I found him in the morning.

I hope Pitzi heals fast too.

We're wishing her a speedy recovery and hope that she can play again with her friends very soon. Efrat, it's so good that you're having an eye on these back yard cats and that you were there to help her! :)

pitzi is home now..
we took her back from the vet last night, she feels good, you can't even tell that she has been through 2 surgeries! she acts like nothing has changed , beside the fact that she still can't put pressure on the leg.

She is now locked in one rom in the house (with premium food... ) and she was a good girl - she knew what the litter box is made for, and she was quiet in the night... I didn''t have time to see her this morning, I'll see her when I go home for lunch.

She is a real fighter - the vet loved her, and he was sweet to only take half price of everything so it wasn;t too expensive.

Good luck with poor Pitzi !!! I hope that surgery did whatever was necessary , so Pitzi will be back to normal in no time :)
Give her a hug from Maya and Inka !!:p

Good luck Pitzi. It sounds like a teenager, all right, to get into something. It's all a ploy to get spoilin's and lovin's. ;)

What a strikingly beautiful cat! She is so lucky to have you looking out for her. The pictures make me feel so sad for her, but happy she is getting good care.

Wow, she looks like a tiger cub with a pussy cat face! Beautiful little cat, I'm so glad she's getting better. I don't know why, but I was expecting her to have plaster. I guess that's why I'm not a vet ...

Uhhhh...
Why bother with the outside part?

She's IN now, why not just forget to open the door? She can make new friends (INside)!

What's one more Inside Kat? :D

What a cutie pie! That is one huge owie on her leg, but she looks so beautiful even with it! I like the ones where she is opening her mouth...and you know what I think she is saying?

PLEASE LET ME STAY INSIDE WITH YOU EFRAT!

:D I speak cat, you know.

She is doing well inside, but my inside cats are not near her. she's in one room and the door is closed... they sometimes sit by the door and smell, but they don't really care... I thought about letting her stay, but she has so many friends out in the yard, and I will feel really bad locking her inside when she knows what the outside is like...
I do believe she is having a good life in my yard, there is fesh food and water all the time, and many places to hide... and it doesn't get too cold here even in winter time...:)

:) I think that she looks like an angel in this pic. See the shiny silver halo.

Poor little Pitzi, but it looks like she's recovering well. You can't even tell which leg is broke! She sure has grown since the last time we saw her. She sure is turning into a beautiful cat.

It's so nice of you to take care of her like that, and it was really nice of the vet to give you a reduced rate for her. She's one lucky kitty to have found you. :)
