Here is some embroidery that I did. We are learning some embroidery stitches in school and here they are.

These are the stitches we were taught:
1) Running Stitch
2) Holbein Stitch
3) Chain Stitch
4) Stem Stitch
5) Cross Stitch
I have written the names in the order they are in the picture.

And here, I Cross Stitched my name

And here is a smiley face of a girl, I used Holbein Stitch in this one

http://petoftheday.com/talk/picture.php?albumid=386&pictureid=3918

Oh! And don't forget to see the back of all of this embroidery;

heehee! Its pretty untidy from the back :p

And here is the front with my anchor threads in the corner

This stitching is done in our clubs and my grade is the only one that is going to have clubs, sorry for the others but they are going to study :( I have no idea why but the clubs have ended for the other classes. Our teacher told us some great news, she has decided that we do a little project, meaning we have to do embroidery on a bag, a pouch, an apron, a pin cushion or a cushion. I chose two, a pouch and a cushion. I am so loving these clubs!

Thanks for watching the pictures! :)

Good job! I learned embroidery from my grandmother, but never learned the Holbein stitch. The fanciest one I can do is the French knot! I embroidered my friend's name on his scarfs a few years ago, because he was always losing them, and leaving them places, and I used daisy-chain stitch for one of them. He said he was sure no one would take his scarf by mistake once they saw the purple embroidery! :)

Lady's Other Human (my brother's wife) does a lot of cross stitch embroidery, I'll tell her she should post a couple! She is more patient with it than I am, by far!

My grandmother taught me, as well. BUT she insisted I keep the back side neat too. Took some practice!

I did quite a few pieces in my 20's and 30's, haven't got the eyesight for it, now though.

Nice job, Sana! That is great that your class is keeping clubs.

Thank you! It must be hard to keep the stitch clean and neat from the back too! Must be! I'll start trying to keep my stitches clean from the back too.

thank you! :)I really want to learn Daisy Stitch and the French knot. It sounds like an awesome stitch!
I searched French Knot up on google, seems like a GREAT knot to me!
AND Daisy stitch is soo cute! Seriously, a lovely one! :D:love:
There also some videos of how to do the stitch and I might learn it from those video clips :D

We have 3 teachers and one of them's mother did embroidery on a piece of cloth and it was sooooo NEAT!!! You wouldn't be able to know where was the front and where was the back. And I might start learning how to keep my stitches clean and neat from the back too :)

Crosstitch is one of my most favorite hobbies. I even got into designing my own patterns. I have been thinking lately of makinf a new one, and youre post motivated me :)

As for the messy back, keep working and your backs will looks as pretty as the fronts. I just framed Pouncer's pattern the other day (after a couple years of needing to be framed) or I'd show you how neat my frints and backs are.

Nicely done. I hope you conitnue to work on it and discover a wonderful hobby.

Cross stitch is also now one of my favorite hobbies, well, its my new hobby. :)Its so easy and fun. My cousin told me to cross stitch her name so I'll try keeping the back neat in that one. I'd love your patterns and Pouncer's pattern that you had framed. :D Thank you for complimenting on my work :):)

That is a wonderful thing to learn to do! I used to do counted cross stitch in my younger days. My fingers and eyes do not want to seem to cooperate to do the detail work any longer. Keep it up. You can make many beautiful projects.

Thank you, and I'll try making some because I think this is the age, I already have glasses and hopefully I would be able to see properly without them later :p I'm pretty sure when I grow older I won't have time for all this so, having all the fun I can have at this age :D

Sana,
Your stitches look great. As Karen said I do cross stitch. I will try to take a picture of some that I have done. The great thing about cross stitch is it can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Keep stitching!

And there's some good news, I wanted to cross stitch for a cushion and I asked my teacher if she could print out a page of the picture my other teacher and I decided. She told me I could take her boo home for the weekend and stitch it from there!!!:D:D:D:D I am soooooooo happy, there are soooo many cross stitched things in it and I am planning on buying a new cross stitch book so I can do it when I want to and I would have a book to see what to make. I am really really happy! :D:D

Hey Sana, I finally got around to taking a couple of pics of some stuff I've done.

Here is one I'm working on for my dining room because the colors go really well in there. (The room has an autumn sort of color scheme).

This one is something I did for some of my gift basket jars that we gave out this year.

I wish it were a little clearer but you get the idea.

Very pretty. I sure do miss being able to do work like this anymore, since the hands and fingers just don't work right. I never did a whole lot of small needle work like cross stitch or needlepoint, but loved to knit, crochet, and do long stitch.
