Hi, if you have a spare moment to send good thoughts toward my 10 year old Sophie, I would really appreciate it.

Sophie has a benign lump that must be removed. It is growing and interfering with her walking/moving. A swat from another cat caught it and caused it to bleed terribly.

Here are two photos of my sweet girl.
(Thank you)

Aw, Sophi is so fluffy!

At least you know it is benign, that is a good thing.

Prayers for Sophie for a successful removal and quick recovery.

Thanks all. I'm worried, but hopeful, and with your excellent thoughts and prayers coming her way, I am pawsitive all will be well.

She is such a dear kitty, so gentle and loving and funny. So talkative. Chirps at you and gets a conversation going and then gets up close and head buts your ear. So funny.

:)

Sweet Sophie is home safe and sound. She is groggy and purry from the anaesthetic, but all went well. She has about 8 stitches that have to come out in 2 weeks time. She also has some pain medication for a couple of days. Probably no "cone of shame" because of the location. (I told my dad she was having an armpitectomy.") I have her in her own room for recovery.

I truly believe in the power of pawsitive prayer/thought. Thanks everyone who kept her in your heart.

and hope her lump removal goes well. Please just keep an eye on it... if the lump starts to turn hard or grow quickly, that is usually a sign that it may be turning to cancer..... I know with my other two angel dogs, that's what I was always looking out for.....lots of surgeries there :o)

Prayers and hugs to Sophie

Thanks for all the nice comments. Sophie is trying to stay comfortable, purring on my hand and chirping. She's eating well and the whole thing, so time will heal this poor girl.

I hear news of the lump in a few days time.

Astrid, I love that you also have a Sophie!

Well the lump is definitely benign, great news! Unfortunately Sophie managed to pull some stitches and it caused an infection. So now she's on antibiotics, and special cream for her wound. Her 'Elizabethan Collar' (aka the cone of shame) is slightly bigger so she can't lick at her armpit.

7 more days of isolation in the "Princess Suite" (aka spare bedroom).

She is such a dear, so good natured and happy to see me every time I can spend time with her. She takes her pills like a trouper.

Feeding her is very interesting. Sigh. I am doing it mostly by hand. Please keep Sophie in your thoughts. I really appreciate it!

Hi all,
Sophie is now finally free from the "cone of shame" and finished her run of antibiotics. She is now free of the Princess Suite (spare bedroom) and has revisited all her old haunts with great glee and much chattering! I'm so happy she is all better.

Thank you all for looking :) Here she is in her favourites spot: the table beside the couch, and sitting in the sun.
