Hey guys, I know a bunch of you have DSLRs, and I've been looking at lenses trying to figure out what ones I want to purchase in the future. I definitely need a zoom lens (probably the 55-200mm), and I want a macro lens but I'm not paying $600 + for one, so I'm looking at a standard lens (maybe the 50mm or maybe the 35mm).

Just wondering what kind of lenses everyone uses and if you have any recommendations :)

Thanks!

As far as macro lenses go, I've got this one (http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-AF-60mm-2-0-II/dp/B00200K9MM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1299868070&sr=8-5) for my Canon last year, and I really love it.

Definitely get the 55-200mm, it is quite nice! I have a 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 18-70mm and 18-105mm - I just prefer being able to move between a range than being constricted/limited, like the 35mm/50mm, but however, those two lenses are extremely useful for portraits! I'm more of a nature/landscape type of photographer, so I like to have telephoto lenses. :) Someday, I'd love to get this: AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED

I have more lenses than I need, but my favorite is a Sigma 18-250. It's my walking around lens. I rarely take it off my camera anymore. When we went to Costa Rica, it was the only lens I took. It's sharp, it's fast and it covers a huge range. Sometimes there is some very minor vingetting at the very far end of the range but it's minor and easy to crop out for prints.

I have a Nikkor 60mm Macro lens. It was crazy expensive, but it does take a great shot. I mainly use it for pictures of my beads.

I have the Nikkor 35mm too. It's a great lens. So fast and bright. Nice for portraits and that kind of stuff.

Alright, everyone, thanks for the suggestions! I'll look into all of these :) I wish I had like fortunes to spend on lenses, because there's some really awesome ones I only wish I could afford!
