Punxatawney Phil did NOT see his shadow this morning so that means an early spring! I just looked out through the window at the snow coming down and I'm wondering how accurate Phil is. Does anyone else have predictors like Phil?

We live in the area served by Phil too, however, I'll bet he's wrong with this year's prediction.

I think Phil is the go to groundhog for everyone....

We have Wiarton Willie in Canada. He is in Wiarton, Ontario - which is getting hit by that huge snowstorm that has passed thru the USA. Newscasters this morning were guessing he wouldn't even be able to dig his way out of his burrow! But apparently, he didn't see his shadow either.

There's even Manitoba Merv, a puppet....http://winnipeg.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20110202/wpg_merv_110202/20110202/?hub=WinnipegHome

There is also Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia.

And HE didn't see his shadow either....:)

Here is a link to Groundhog Central!!

Apparently (I heard this on the radio) FOUR groundhogs saw their shadows today, and it is rare for these 4 to agree on an early Spring!

Punxsutawney Phil, General Beauregard Lee, Concord Charlie and Wiarton Willie.

Then there is this article, says 6 out of 8 groundhogs agree, early Spring!

Doubting Thomasina here. I'll believe it when I see it! :p

Are you really going to put your faith and trust in an overgrown rodent???:D

I'm so desperate for Spring that I would put my faith in a turtle right now :D

Well we're supposed to be in the 70's starting tomorrow for the next several days. It'll sure feel like Spring here.:)

ROTFL!!!!! Thanks for that. :D

Punxy Phil is only about 3 hours or so from where I live. I think he would have been groundhog stew if he didn't predict an early Spring this year! :p

Wonder what Phil would have predicted if he lived in my area! lol

We don't have groundhogs here, so I guess we'll have to rely on the weather forecast... :D

I agree. I live about an hour and a half due west of Punxatawney (near Butler) and I might have gotten there first!
