This was kind of a unique snowfall. not A LOT of snow especially compared to what we got last year. But this snow when it was falling was so wet and sticky that it just clung to whatever it touched. Everything is covered in white which is beautiful.... but these poor trees just can't bear this kind of weight lol.

Last night during the snowfall

You can see how it's just sticking to the fence. the entire fence is white with snow

this morning out front... I will post a picture of this tree normally with no snow on it so you can see just how badly it's drooping. so far one big branch has snapped off and i wouldn't be surprised if more follow

Ok well I can't find a picture at the moment of what that tree normally looks like but it's branches shouldn't be anywhere near the ground lol

We are having Ice Age-level snow in the Northeast; over 60" (about 1.5 m) total since Dec. 26!

We got pretty much what Sparks got too, but after last year with the record breaking snows that we got all winter, then this seems pretty mild. It is absolutely beautiful to look at, but it is creating havoc with the evergreens.

Yesterday was the craziest weather in a long time. When I got up around 6, it was sleet and freezing rain on top of the little bit of snow that had fallen first. Then it changed back to snow for a while, then to a light rain all day. Around supper time we had a typical "summer" storm - pouring down rain and thunder and lightening - then changed to sleet, and then back to snow over night. We had a little bit of everything! So we only have about 6" of snow on the ground right now, but it's ice underneath that's causing the problem. All of that slushy mush had nowhere to go with the ground being frozen, so it just laid there and froze.

I'm just hoping that we'll be spared any really drastic storms for the rest of the season. We paid our dues last year! :p

All of you that got more than we did - be careful out there - whenever you manage to get out! :p:D
