**** I do not know this person that is trying to rehome these cats, I received this email from a friend today at work. I assume they are still available but I'm not sure. These cats are in Richmond VA*****

Sphynx & Tabby In Need of Home!

Location: Glen Allen

Contact: Camie- [email protected]

I have two cats available for adoption. If I find them a home together I have some toys, food & water bowls, litter box, heating beds, etc that I would be willing to give away at no cost. Everything you would need to adopt is included in the adoption, no spending tons of money at the pet store in the beginning. These two loving female cats are about 2 ½ years old and both are spayed. I have a Tabby named Cassie and she is de-clawed. She is gray with black stripes and green eyes and I also have a some what rare breed called a Sphynx. She is a hairless breed with blue eyes. They would have to be indoor cats due to the Tabby has no claws and the Sphynx has no fur. These two have been in search for a permanent home for a while so if you or someone you know are looking to adopt you couldn’t ask for a better pair of kitties so please feel free to contact me by email. Anybody interested in adoption and would like to see some pictures I can email them to you.

I sent you an email. I would be VERY interested in adopting the Sphynx. I have a Sphynx and have had them for many years. I know the breed, and would love to give the nekkid baby a forever home.

Donna,
I thought of you when I got this today. The email address provided is for the owner, is that who you sent an email to? Let me know how it goes.

When I first read this, I immediately thought of Donna. I knew you would post on this one, bless your heart. A nekkid could have no better home than yours.

katladyd,

Thanks for the compliment!!! I sent the girl an email and got an auto-reply that she's out of the office and will reply when she returns. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The only issue will be transport.

Oh, GILLLLLLLLL, you going to Richmond, VA anytime soon???????

I got an email from the owner of the two cats this afternoon. She wanted to know if I could take both cats. If the other tabby is declawed, I definitely have a home for her!!!

Keep your fingers crossed. She said that I and a couple of other people have inquired about the Sphynx. She wants the sphynx to go to an owner who has experience. If I DO get the other sphynx, I'll be using Pilots and Paws. I'll let ya know.

3CatCondo,

Thanks for the tip!!!

I'm glad to hear she wants to keep them together. They sounded like a bonded pair.

I talked to Cami tonight. She's going to do a vet and personal reference check and get back to me. Once I know I've been approved, I'll call Pilots and Paws and set up a transport. Both cats were rescued by her because they were in danger of being dumped off at a high kill shelter. Brandon, my friend who lost Myles (see Cat Memoriam) wants another declawed cat. I've called him to let him know that I'll be getting Cassie Rae (the tiger) in a week or so.

Thanks so much to everyone for their thoughts and encouragement. Paws and fingers crossed that all goes smoothly.;)

just saw this.. my first thought was too Donna.. hehe..

I´m 100% sure the personal and vet check will give you approval.. but what more approval than your experience with nekkid kids..

fingers crossed for everything that requires finger crossing.. ;)

They're adorable.:) They do look like they are very bonded though so maybe they shouldn't be split up between you and your friend but I know that you have plenty of cats that the Sphynx can cuddle with. I hope that everything will go well.:)

I was thinking the same thing, Tracey. Does Brandon have any other cats that Cassie can cuddle with? Not saying he isn't going to spoil her and love her, please don't think that. But it seems these cats have been together for quite some time and been through a lot together.
But, on the other hand....I'm excited to see another nekkid baby!! :D

Cassie Rae will have an old dog named "Lovie" to hang and snuggle with.

Still waiting to hear. I sent a message to a pilot out of Massachusetts. Pilots and Paws is very confusing when it comes to requesting transport.

I'll keep you all posted. Cami asked that I send frequent pictures and updates. Absolutely!!!!

I think it is sad that they are going to get split up. I have had cats that are really bonded before and I can't even imagine splitting them up.

I think Donna would take the necessary steps if either kitty shows major signs of separation. Its not like she's giving Cassie away to someone she doesn't know. It is a little sad to see them separated, but I'm sure Donna will do what's best for them. :) Let's just hope Cassie doesn't mind dogs. LOL :p

Well, I got an email from Cami. I told her I was having a heck of a time getting a flight from Richmond City, VA to Hartford. I told her that it would probably be best that she adopt both of them to a lady in her area that has another sphynx. She's willing to take both of them, so they won't be split. It's for the best. I'd hate to have them both stressed out over such a long travel.

Things happen for a reason. At least the other woman who responded has another sphynx, so she knows what kind of care Jenna will need, and Jenna will have anothery sphynx and tiger tabby to snuggle with.

Thanks for your encouragement everyone!!!;)

Donna,
I'm sorry it didn't work out. You tried tho. :)

I'm a little disappointed, but it is for the best.

I was contacted by a man who has a 14 year old orange and white cat (looks JUST like Bad @$$ Buddy) with hyperthyroidism. He's unemployed, his medical benefits are running out and has to find another place to live. He does not want to give him up, but has no choice. He's had him since he was a kitten.

My friend offered to pay for everything if I can foster him. Why not? I can't in good conscience, let this poor cat be dumped at a shelter. Besides, he's going to be on Methimazole, a topical hyperthyroidism medicine (same that Murphy was on) for it, which is going to probably going to affect his kidneys, just like Murphy. All I can do is make him comfortable and happy for as long as possible. Who is going to want to adopt a 14 year old cat?

*sigh* the cycle continues.

I think that is wonderful that you are going to take the older kitty!

Most of my cats are "older" except for Cameo and Michael. They all showed up here as strays. And I notice that someone has dropped off two more strays here. I cant afford to take any more of them and the landlord will try to evict me if I am caught feeding them outside. But just between us... :) I do so anyhow! I just put food out late at night and bring the dish back in when they are done. One is solid black and the other is black and white. Both look healthy so they havent been on their own for too long.

Sigh... how I wish that I could take every cat that shows up in and love them.

I hear ya Barbpond. I feel very good about my decision. If the two cats were in danger of being PTS, I would've climbed the highest mountain to get them here. But the 14 year old Bad @$$ Buddy look-a-like needs me.

I'm glad you're feeding them strays. I used to live next door to a @$$hat of a dentist who INSISTED that the two ferals (not anymore) were mousers and needed to be hungry to hunt. I've gone head to head with him. I finally decided to do what you're doing. Feed them at night when no one is around and get rid of the evidence. Some people are just too stupid to live sometimes.

Bart is here!!! He could be Bad @$$ Buddy's twin!!! He's safe in my bedroom with his bed, food, water litterbox and Feliway in the air. When I let him out of the carrier (after I applied Frontline) he immediately went under the bed. It'll be him and me tonight.

I felt so bad for Will (his former owner). He was in tears when he dropped him off. I reassured him that I'd keep in touch with him, sending updates and pictures of Bart.

The prospect of him getting a forever home at this point (remember he's 14 and has hyperthyroidism) is slim, so I guess I can say I now have 7 cats.

LOL, I read your first sentence as Brat is here! I was like, wow he's already made an impression. Then realized I got the letters backwards. :D

I hope Bart has an easy transition into the household. :)

I got an email from Cammie, the woman in VA who is looking to place a declawed tiger tabby and a Sphynx.

She said the woman from W. VA never called her back and wanted to know if I as still interested in Jenna and if my friend Brandon was still looking for a declawed kitty.

She knows someone who is active in transports to the East Coast and said she'd be happy to set up the transport if I was still interested. I told her that I would LOVE to make Jenna a permanent part of my fur family. But, Brandon, the guy who recently lost Myles, is in the process of adopting another cat from a local organization.

So, I MAY still be giving Jenna a new home. I'll let you know.

Oh no...I mean, it's great if you can adopt Jenna, but I feel sorry for the other kitty, because they are so bonded. But better that they each have a great home than none.

Prayers for the best! :)
