Some people are uploading pics they've taken with their cell phone, so I do not think there's anything wrong with a "regular" digicam. :)

Absolutely! Anything works. :) I'm so glad to see there's a bunch of us on there participating this awesome project! I'm having fun with it. I do admit, on weekends, I won't be able to update daily. (always away from my computer! and I'm not exactly sure how the uploading on the phone thing works for that project on the website.)

If anyone didn't know yet, there's a weekly theme, this week's theme is "moviescene" - To tag, write: theme-moviescene - Basically you take a picture of something, that reminds you of your favorite scene from a movie. It's challenging. I have a couple ideas already! Need to wait until tomorrow or another day this week to post it.

You're absolutely right! That's a very interesting aspect of this project. I'm trying to be a little more experiental with these pics, but it's also more personal, especially in combination with the written word. For that reason, I have created the ShadowDancer alias and did not install the facebook app so far.

Uploaded my picture for today already, but that one was quite challenging (and did not turn out well)!

Actually Kirsten it is rather cool ^_^ I like the 'smokey' effect the steam gives to the photo. It's adds more atmosphere of mystery to the very question you have written on the mirror.

I'm the same. Decent at taking pictures everyday (though creative is lacking!), just need to work on updating more then 1 or 2x a week. Looking forward to some upcoming trips that will give me some new places to take pictures. Going to DC in March and it is looking like Europe (Germany) in June!

Thanks! :) Yes, I was also kinda uninspired the last couple of days, but today, I knew exactly what kind of picture I wanted to take. Required some prearrangements today, and I had no idea how it would turn out with the light only coming from the windows, but in the end, the result was very close to what I have pictured before. :)

I´ve slacked for a loooooong looooooong time... over a month now.. I do have most of the pics... some are a series of pics to fill a week quota for when I went behind.. just that my comp hasn´t been too cooperative in the uploading department.. I hope to get at least a few up.. a WHOLE MONTH!!.. ouch!!..

a few are way bad quality as they were taken with my phone but some were just too cute and my camera wasn´t handy at the time.. will upload a few of those too..

Oh, Kirsten, thank you very much! You can't imagine how much I appreciate what you said! :) It's true that looking at others pictures and styles is giving me a lot of ideas. I learn to have a different look on things. I always used to be very technical (after all, my love for photography started with me learning in books how a camera is made, how the image is formed, how to use aperture, speed, etc.) but I sometimes lack artistic sense for creativity. I'm a scientist, it may explain I guess...;) So, this projects helps me thinking differently, daring to try non conventional pictures!
What I like very much in your work is that you are able to make beautiful the simplest and non beautiful things, such as the tube in the 21st April pic. And with just enough editing to make it more beautiful while keeping it real.

I know what you mean, it's too often that we forget to find the "essence" of a picture 'cause we're only thinking about the technical stuff. Happens to me also, but 365 kind of brings you "back to the roots". There are many pictures on PP which are not technically perfect, but they are great because they capture a special moment, or an amazing atmosphere..

As for my own pictures: I always tried to find beauty in ordinary things, even in those people consider to be ugly... But my pictures never seem to be "alive", this is what I usually don't like about them.

His person is Arline Grant, @nonni. She lost the last of three elderly cats about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Teddy's Gotcha Day is April 14, so he has just joined her family. She has shared a lot of photos of him and I think he's absolutely beautiful.

He had his first visit to the veterinarian yesterday. Here he is on the doctor's desk.

A New Year...

...is like a blank sheet of paper that is lying before us on our desk today. White and empty, waiting to be filled with stories and pictures. Now it's up to you. Maybe you already did your first sketches today, maybe you have no idea how to start... But no matter if you already know how to fill your paper, or if you have no clue at all, no one of us can say for sure how it will be looking like at the end. Will the bright colors dominate? Will it look dull and grey? Will there be many corrections and ink spots? Or will there be nothing at all? Will life let us write our story the way we planned, or will there be someone who's scratching out the things we came up with only to dictate us what to write instead? Will there be others who support us while we progress, or do we have to walk alone? Will we learn more about ourselves and our skills while we work? So many questions, and all we can do is taking a pencil and accepting the challenge - and as we go, we may find our direction and see where this is leading us...

May your paper sheet be filled with stories of love and joy in the end, and with cheerful pictures of happiness and light!
