Video Quality Help

I took a video of Zoe with my digital last night but it turned out a bit dark and I am wondering if there is a way to lighten up a video. Since she is black and the room wasn't completely lighted it is very dark.

I don't know if I have an editing program. I never really tried to edit one.

Are you on a MAC or a PC? If you're on a PC you'll have Windows Movie Maker, which I *believe* you can edit videos on. Mac has something to, I can't think of the name right this second though.
