Thursday evening, I took the 3 youngest (Tasha age 6, Willy age 7 and Lacey age 8) to visit a friend. She and hubs have 2 pups, 12 year old bichon they got as a puppy, and 12 year old (guessing) Maltese they adopted from the shelter 3 years back. They also have a 1 year old cat, calico name Jasmine, whom I hadn't seen in a while, hence my visit.

My pups do a LOT of socializing, but none has ever been to another home. Back yard play dates? Oh yes. Inside? Nope. So I was a bit cautious, but they did FINE.

We sat in the kitchen, the dogs all meet and greeting, kitty up on the counter gazing at these intruders, lol. Now, the back wall has double glass doors out to the deck. (With our cold winters, I'd have insulated curtains over that area, but she doesn't. Any way, on with the tale.) There are grids in the glass, so it looks like smaller panes. Still, it is glass down to floor level.

Willy suddenly starts his deep INTRUDER bark and charges to the glass door where he . . . banged his nose! He was barking at his reflection! :D

Once the 2 of us calmed, I got him away and things settled, and the 2 of us started chatting again. All of a sudden, all the NOISE! You know, once one barks, the others start. Yup, Willy had spotted THAT DOG again! It was BACK!

Meanwhile, Tasha is a bit overwhelmed by all this. New house, new person, new dogs, a cat that is UP and scowling at her, and her pack mate keeps going ballistic over she knows not what. So she ended up in my lap. This didn't go over well with Lacey, who had to settle for the dining chair next to me. So she started pouting and sighing.

Well, so we maneuvered things to keep Willy behind the island, so he wouldn't see THAT DOG again.

Now, hubs comes home from work. (He knew I was there, and that I had my 3 with me.) THEIR 2 dogs start the happy bark, DADDY IS HOME! My three decide this is yet another intruder. They meet him at the door and would NOT allow him in! Friend and I are laughing so hard we can barely go to his aid. She keeps saying HE LIVES HERE, as if my dogs are going to understand THAT! No, it is not one of the commands they learned in their many and varied training classes.

In my efforts trying to get Willy's attention, he turns and spies . . . THAT DOG! BACK AGAIN! :p Na ne na ne nah nah! Off goes Willy, charging the glass doors and barking up a storm. The other 4 charge after him and now the barking is all serious again. (Their 2 have changed tone.) At least Hubs could now enter HIS OWN HOUSE! :D

We all settled down eventually, I don't even know how really. ALL the humans needed to use the bathroom, ha haaa, we'd been laughing that hard. And the cat cat? We found her hiding under the sofa!

Sounds like a fun visit! Willy you are such a character! Leo did the same "intruder bark" when he first saw himself in my mirror wardrobe doors. It was really funny !

Oh my gosh, Willy! I'm laughing so hard! Look out for the intruder! Reminds me of Tasha's intruder (the Bichon on mom's calendar). :D
