We've had the veggie garden since we bought this house 9 years back. It was really Dad's fun project. I've had to handle it myself the past 2 eyars, and it is too much for me. This year I didn't get much yield, and the weeds really took over -- it looks like a jungle. So I've planted grass seed.
All summer when I mow the lawn, the clippings go in a pile we used for fertilizing the garden each Spring. The pile was HUGE! This is how it looked Nov 5th:

I spent several hours "moving dirt," so to speak. I put the clippings under all the evergreens around the house, and have reclaimed most of the real estate.

Amazing the space I've found, lol!
