Everyone has a favorite purebred, but lets share about those sweet mixed breed puptarts that we all know and love!

My dog Tide is a 2 1/2 year old Pharaoh Hound/Australian CAttle Dog Mix and he's the BEST!!! Check out his website: http://tidebook.homestead.com/home.html http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I'm sure everyone's getting sick of me mentioning her http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/tongue.gif LOL, but our Misty (rainbow bridge) was the absolute best dog. She was an American Eskimo mix http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Mostly Eskie, but with a little bit shorter hair and one black ear instead of being pure white. BTW, Tide is adorable!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

I love the mutts
I have a beagle/basset hound cross
and a beagle that I was told was pure beagle but some say she may be part pointer or bluetick.

You can see them at The Hound House http://www.geocities.com/the_hound_house

I just adore all your "kids!" And what terrific jobs you did on your websites! I'm currently TRYING to build one on homestead; having some difficulties, but hope to be up and running soon! I never get sick of hearing about Misty. Like you Wolflady, my lab/golden cross Jingles, who went to the Rainbow Bridge Sept. 5, 1998, was the best dog ever. I hope I can share pictures of her soon. Tick is just the sweetest! What a lamb! And "the hounds!!" Wish I could give them all hugs. I've had purebreds and All Americans," and there is just something so special about those mutts! Thanks for sharing your stories, your pictures, and your love.

Thank you so much, I loved seeing all your mutts. They're all gorgeous. In australia, mixed-breed dogs are called 'bitzers', meaning they have a bit of other breeds in them.
Our most beloved dog ever was a little bitzer we rescued after she'd been thrown out of a car on a busy highway when she was only little. We called this little sweet black dog, Tessa. When she was 13 yrs old, we jokingly called her 'Grandma' & the name stuck. She became 'Gran' or 'Grandma' until she went to the Rainbow Bridge aged 22 years. Everybody still misses her.

I saw the most gorgeous 6 month old puppies at the shelter today. They were a beautiful mix of Shih Tzu/Cocker. I couldn't get enough of them. They were even still cute after they peed and pooped on me!

I would have LOVED to adopt an abused mutt that needed a home desperately, but alas I have allergies to dogs (and it was our first one) so me and my family decided to get a pedigree so we could research traits, etc. Anyways, technically we didn't get a pedigree, we got a cockerpoo (a breed that is not registered with any Kennel Club), but she's not even that she's 2 thirds poodle and 1 third cocker, rather then half and half. To make a long story short she's been perfect for our life style and she's just a little ham that loves attention. At some point in my life though, I hope to adopt a dog (preferably a mutt!!). Power to the mutts!!!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I spent some time with this beautiful dog at the shelter today. She is a very good mix with a wonderful personality. Who could resist this sweet face?

Aly, that dog is beautiful ! I love any dog that has hound in its blood http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif As you can see from my User Name ...lol.. If I lived closer I would adopt it in a heartbeat. Of course it would take alot longer than that to talk my parents into letting me get another dog http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/frown.gif

I have a mutt/pound puppy also. His name is Dale and we are not sure what kind of dog he is because he was a stray and we got him from the SPCA. He may be either St. Bernard/Border Collie or Pointer/Springer Spaniel. Enjoy
