Does anyone have a suggestion for a low allergen cat food? Saphirah was on the prescription low allergen food, but we would love to find something we can find without having to go to the vet's office for it. Also, if it is something that both cats could eat, that would be a bonus. We do have a PetSmart locally.

Do you know what her allergies are?

They haven't determined them specifically. The food thing was more of a trial, but since she's been back on the regular food, she's starting to lose hair again. She was eating Hills Prescription z/d.

If you still have the package, check the ingredient list, then compare it to the regular food, and you'll have an idea what you need to avoid in a new food. And yes, even small amounts of something can have an effect, so read the whole list, okay?

Depending on what she's allergic to you might want to try some of Natural Balance's grain free limited ingredient diets. They have Green Pea & Chicken dry, Green Pea & Duck dry, and Green Pea & Salmon dry. In canned they have Chicken & Green Pea, Duck & Green Pea, and Venison & Green Pea, and Salmon & Green Pea. I know that Petsmart doesn't sell this though but Petco does. You can also click on the where to buy link in the upper right hand corner and it should list some other places that sell it. Here's the link: http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/catformulas/allergy.html. Good luck.:)

I know what you mean about going to the Vets for food , it is so expensive.
I got some A/D , G/D and K/D for Michael , and it is about 2.30 plus 13% HST for a 5.5 ounce can.
Add to that 110 dollars a month for Michael's medication , and I would like to find something less expensive like Blue Buffalo or another premium brand.

Here is the ingredient list for prescription dry z/d:

I was also going to suggest the new Natural Balance limited ingredient line of foods.

We found a Blue Buffalo variety for cats with food sensitivity issues. We'll see how this one works.
