Baby Chip is at the white coats -HE'S HOME

Thursday I took Chip in to see his vet because he just wasn't acting like himself. He ate and drank and did the potty things all ok but he just was not wanting to play.

Turned out he had a temp of 105.5, very high for a cat. They started him on meds but he just is not getting better. This morning he would just barely lick his food. Since our bus doesn't run on weekends, I had no way to get him to the vet. They came and picked him up and took him in.

The vet just called. His temp is still way high. It's 105.2. They are keeping him over the weekend to try and get his temp down. They don't want him going into convulsions which could happen if they don't get the temp down.

They are putting a stuffed animal in with him to help him not be so lonesome. I am lonesome though. All he wanted to do was lay on me lately. Still I know he is where he needs to be right now.

He had a high fever before. June 9th I think it was. Maybe that didn't get all cleared up or something and is back now worse. Well, I am just rambling.

Thanks everyone. It will be a long weekend for me. I won't hear from the vet unless there is a problem so, of course, I hope I don't hear from her.

We had severe thunderstorms move through during the night with 60mph winds and tons of thunder and lightening. I was up walking the floor thinking of how frightened Chip probably was alone at the vet's office. :(

I keep telling myself he will get to come home tomorrow. At least, I hope he does. Poor baby had his 4 month old birthday yesterday. What a way to spend it, eh?

Chuck went looking for him for a while. He would peek behind things and call for him. They have never been apart for more than a few hours until now. Angel finally started playing with him and distracted him.

Yes, I sure miss him. He is a momma's boy and loves to cuddle with me while I watch tv. Looks like we may have more thunderstorms tonight so I won't be sleeping much. :(

Been thinking about Chip today and hoping that he is improving every

I sure hope he doesn't have panleuk (distemper.) We had a bad outbreak a couple years ago among our cat rescue kittens. If he's 4 months old he's had at least two shots, right? A kitten isn't fully immunized until after his 3rd shot.

We just got home. he is helping me type this. they gave him two shots Saturday to bring his fever down and jump start his med working.

He is so happy to be home and I'm thrilled to have him here. Chuck washed his face for him the second he got out of the carrier. :D

No, I have no clue and don't think they do either. I'm still thinking he may have it from his surgery 3 weeks ago. Maybe they did the surgery too soon after he had the first fever. He had the first fever June 9th. He's only 4 months old so he's had a lot of things happen to his widdle body in that time. :love:
