Hi guys,

I've been procrastinating with the news! We were in Calgary a couple weekends ago. There was the big Calgary dog show, but mostly I went because there was a regional Belgian shepherd specialty. We could only enter the day of the specialty (the hubby had work conflicts), and I was kicking myself for even bothering because Tandem completely dropped his coat, and Gryffyn the terv chewed all of the hair off around his head and behind his ears and it hadn't grown back. But we went for fun and practice. It was only Tandem's third show and he needed just two more points but Ireally wasn't expecting any.

Well he did it!! To my surprise, he took Best of Winners in the all-breed to finish his championship, and then took Winners Dog in the specialty for a four point major! Whoo hoo! At only 14 months of age and bald as can be. He's a spectacular little man if I may say so myself and I'm excited to start his specials career.

Here is our new champion picture

Tasha (Shelteez2) was there and took some great pics. These two are my favourite. Hope you don't mind me 'stealing' these from you to show everyone Tasha!!

And a couple of randoms I found online.

I'll be showing Visa in a few weeks, hopefully to finish her. And then I'll be showing Tandem at Tradex (largest indoor show in Canada!), and then taking a break from the show ring for a while. I want to work on Visa's and Tandem's agility careers next year instead, and get Visa's last RN leg. When Tandem has matured a bit I'll throw him back in the show ring with the specials. I love showing and will be sad to take a break from it, but I miss agility too, and Tandem could REALLY use the training, he's such a dork.
Anyways, enjoy the pics! I just wanted to 'brag' about my boy! Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be bragging about Visa as well. ;)

Congrats!!! I am enjoying my first dog show... dalmatian specialty followed by regular kennel club show. It's so much fun!

Your boy is sooo pretty, and I can hardly even tell he is missing hair! lol Maybe it's because I don't know what I am looking for. Lol Congrats, championships are a big accomplishment. :)

He's gorgeous no matter how much hair he does or doesn't have, such a soft black, and a classic silhouette. Congratulations to both of you!

Thanks guys!! In other good news, Tandem's sister Kira just got her first points. It was her first weekend out; Yesterday she took Best of Winners. This girl has a very promising show career ahead of her as well (but is primarily doing tracking, herding, rally, obedience, and agility).

I absolutely love it when people participate in multiple sports with their dogs. :)

LOL yeah, I was really on board with the catahoulas too.. If I hadn't have gotten Visa, I definatly would have gotten the catahoula puppy. Funny how fate intervenes I guess!! My life would have been WAY different!
