Prayers needed for Scooter

Hi,
Scooter, my FIV+ cat isn't feeling very well. I took him to the vet last Friday because I didn't think he was feeling good and to me his breathing didn't look right. It was not smooth but hard. The vet took x rays and found three problems. One was asthma, one was broncheal and the third was something on the xrays she wasn't sure what it was. He just had blood work done recently and it was fine. She did a heartworm test on him and that was negative. She put him on zithromax for ten days and I am to bring him back and do another xray. He has been doing about the same since then so she had me bring him in and she gave him two injections, one steriod to help the breathing and one for bacteria. He doesn't seem much different today. He has been doing some coughing. He needs to have a broken tooth pulled but can't do anything about that while he has these other problems. I am so scared he won't get better. He is my special buddy since Ivy died. Him and Ivy were best friends. Please pray that Scooter gets better. Thanks so much!

Is your vet very familiar with feline heartworm disease? From what I understand testing for it isn't as simple as in a dog, and the symptoms often are very similar to athsma/bronchitis in cats and a vet that's very familiar with the disease in cats can sometimes find a tell tale sign in the x-rays.
