Time again for some Catmobile fun!

Hi fellow kitties!
Pinot, Cassie, and I have been in contact and came up with a dynamite idea. We're going on a Catmobile Mystery Trip. Here's the deal, all we'll tell you now is the trip is on but we won't tell you where we're going. Nobody will know until we get to our final destination. Of course there will be the usual amenities...lots of tasty snacks, high def tv, air conditioning, music, soft pillows, warm blankets, no purrents.

We'll be heading out either a week from this Saturday or a week from this Sunday. Time is running short but our ace co-pilot Pinot never lets us down. Transportation will be provided for everyone.

Sophie, Sparkler, Merlin, Samantha, Jessica, Taccoa, Elmer, Bob, Mac, Ming, Amy, Roco, Elmer, Sydney, the babies too...and anyone else up for mystery and adventure... check in and let us know you'll be coming. I'll contact my lovely Inka and her sweet sisters.

Wow, so far the food sounds teriffic and I'm getting hungry already. I'll have Meowmie order the usual fried chicken, crab legs, scallops, extra shrimp. Maybe this time I can convince her that we need lobster too. Feel free to join me in campaigning for lobster! If only we could find Frosty Paws ice cream again.

How great to see so many of you will be joining us for our "Mystery Trip". Don't worry, Angel, we'll have you back in time to celebrate your first purrthday with your furever purrents. Buddy and Lulu, can't wait to see both of you.

Pinot, I know you've been busy mapping things out. When do you think we should plan to leave? We can get the Catmobile anytime this week. The service department at the local Jaguar dealer has checked the air conditioner a few times to make sure it's working at top efficiency since it's so hot everywhere.

For those of you flying in, be sure to let us know which airport you'll be coming in to. If you're not sure which one to go to, Philadelphia or Newark are good options. If you plan to get here by Amtrack, get the train to Trenton and you'll be picked up at the station. As always, you're welcome to stay at my place. If anyone is having a transportation problem, call Pinot or me right away so we can work it out. Nobody will be left behind!

There's still time and still plenty of room in the Catmobile so let us know if you want to come.

Hi fellow kitty travelers! Get the Amtrak Train right into Trenton. Meowmie took Amtrak when she went to meet Pinot's purrents, she said be sure to get in the Quiet Car. It's very comfortable, very quiet, and Meowmie says it's the only way to travel. I don't know how long the train trip is so you might want to check on that. Call me on my cell phone when the train gets to Trenton and you'll be picked up at the station. You're welcome to stay at my place until it's time to head out.

My beloved Merlin, Meowmie says you could take the Trans-Canada train from Vancouver to Montreal. She did that once, a long time ago. But she doesn't know if there's another train you could catch in Montreal to get to Trenton. She took buses to get to Boston from Montreal, and let's face it, a bus is NOT a suitably luxurious conveyance for a cat!

Or if there's a way for you to get from Vancouver to Los Angeles, you could join Ming and Mac and Princess Chelsea Pearl on the Amtrak.

Any of you other kitties out there near any of these places or know of ways we could get the unknown parts of the routes taken care of?

Or maybe we should both just fly again and meet up at LaGuardia?

And you're right, Chelsea, a princess like you deserves only the very best. I love your idea about the private rail car, such luxury and amenities! You might want to talk to the other kitty travelers about this. They're always looking to upgrade the Catmobile, the high definition tv was recently added. Last trip they were able to see the World Cup soccer games in style and often enjoy Animal Planet shows. I'm so happy that you'll be joining in and hope you'll be a regular on the trips. If you should ever want to go somewhere be sure to post in and let Pinot or Groucho know, you can be sure they'll make it happen. Have a good time with all your new friends! Well, all I can say is that Merlin is extremely excited about this mystery trip. He's so mellow - he'll go along with anything (except being groomed by his hooman :rolleyes:).

So I'm going to book him a flight to LA but when should he arrive? I will have to drop him off at the airport at dawn before I come to work. If the Catmobile is leaving on Saturday I'm afraid that he won't arrive in LA in time to meet the others for the Amtrak.

The gang from here is on the way. Sophie and the others arrived early this morning. I insisted they have a snack and a short rest while I helped load the bus. There was a short delay when Chip and Chuck couldn't find their sunglasses but all is well now.

The bus driver called me from the airport. He helped everyone get on the plane and load their stuff. He waited until the plane took off. They are all heading for thier catmobile adventure!!! :D :love:

The boys met all the kitties from "up north" and they have texted me that they are on their way. They said they will try to save some of the sushi for the trip, but you know how cats are with sushi! A quick post on behalf of my Pinot-girl...she's had a very tough week and is sleeping in anticipation of her early morning Catmobile pickup. It's all she's been able to talk about this evening! All is well with our Catmobile contingent. Our overnight guests were a pleasure to have and they're welcome any time! Early last evening, all the kitties went to visit Billie Jean, my Pastor's kitty companion. Billie Jean treated her new friends to pizza while they relaxed in her spacious and safely fenced in back yard. Cassie, Sophie, and Sparkler were sorry Billie Jean couldn't join the Mystery Trip but cell phone numbers were exchanged.

Got a call from Groucho a short while ago. He said the Catmobile is right on schedule with snacks still in good supply. So far the only stop has been for the rest of the contingent to pick up sunglasses at Quakerbridge Mall. Groucho called to say their friend JJJ3 went to the Rainbow Bridge and there's a lot of LES on the Catmobile right now. Before leaving, all the Catmobile kitties held a prayer service for Joseph with the Porchies and the Found Cats. They understand that Gary and his kitty family need time to mourn so before leaving they each gave Mr. Catmandu kitty hugs to comfort him. Right now the Catmobile is a very quiet and sad place.

Cassiesmom, I think another trip under consideration is the Edinburgh Festival. There are a record 2453 shows on between now and the end of August, and I hear the organisers would be keen to lay on a luxury flight for such celebrity guests. There is also the tattoo, of course, and poor little Merlin who doesn't want to go home yet might be interested to see some pipe bands - given his meowmie's musical history.

My girls are glad that they were able to be there with their favourite Uncle Gary at such a sad time, and now they would like to take the Found Cats on a little trip to cheer them up. :love:

I was in the beautiful City of Edinburgh for the festival a number of years ago. The Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle is something I still remember fondly, especially the lone bagpiper playing on a turret of the castle to end the evening's program. I also remember walking the Royal Mile between Edinburgh Castle and Holy Roodehouse (Killearn Kitties, please accept my apology if the spelling is wrong). Then there was the parade along Princes Street. And Prince's Park, the floral clock, the Walter Scott Monument all at the base of Edinburgh Castle. Wonderful and very happy memories!

No word from Groucho about his plans yet. Maybe he'll bring me some haggis if he decides to continue on to Scotland.

I don't think it will be a problem for everyone to get to Angel's birthday party on Friday, because it seems Angel, Chip and Chuck have flown with everybody else into Edinburgh. :eek: Mrs MOFF has not to worry though! I wasn't at all pleased that they had brought the babies all this way, but I was assured that they were much safer with all the other kitties looking after them than flying home unaccompanied. I spoke to the babies on the phone tonight and they are very excited.

Groucho has so much that he wants to see. It seems his meowmie has told him all about Edinburgh and he wants to see it all for himself. Pinot has been provided with street plans and will be navigating the wynds as Head Tour Guide.

They flew in on a beautiful evening today, and went to their first concert tonight! My godson is working at one of the venues and made sure they had the best seats in the house, with the finest snacks and nibbles for them to refresh themselves. They are now back at their hotel for a good long sleep before they hit the tourist trail tomorrow.

I'm sure my babies are very excited to be in Scotland. They know I have a soft spot in my heart for that country. One of my ancestors was Mary Gordon from the highland Gordon clan. Do try and keep them from peeking up any kilts they may encounter though!!! ;)

Thanks for the update! I haven't heard from Groucho since the kitty krew left for Scotland. But with so much to see and do I guess that's no surprise. The last time Groucho called, he asked about the kilts and said the lady kitties were planning a stop at a tartan shop. The guy kitties couldn't wait to see the suits of armor on display at Edinburgh Castle. Several of the group are anxious to try some haggis. As I remember, it's really very good. I warned them to not go to the pubs since they all are under age. This part of their trip has brought back many fond memories of my visit to your beautiful country.

I understand that our kitties decided to do the Royal Mile in an unusual way today - from Holyrood at the bottom all the way up to the castle at the top - well they are cats. :rolleyes: They shopped all the way! When I asked what they bought, I was told "don't ask!" :confused:

Apparently Angel, Chip and Chuck were diverted into the Museum of Childhood by Sophie and Chels while the rest of the kitties shopped for birthday presents for Friday's big party.

Then they went round a couple of art galleries on their way down to Princes Street Gardens. Groucho wanted to see the Floral Clock that his meowmie had told him about, so they had arranged for caterers from a local delicatessen to serve a fabulous picnic in the gardens. Are these kitties good to themselves or what???

I understand that after suitably refreshing themselves, they headed back up to the Castle esplanade for tonight's tattoo. I told Jessica to make sure little Chip and Chuck were well back and couldn't run onto the parade ground for ... any reason.

Goodness knows what they have in store for tomorrow.

Winnie, Chester, Grandma and I are busy getting ready for the party. Chester has been having fun with the helium balloons. You should hear how funny he sounds. :D

We will have lots of goodies and treats and fun. The kits are more than welcome to spend the weekend or however long they want to stay. My kits can show them our fort. I think our heat wave is to break Friday so it won't be so awfully hot for an outdoor outing should they want to see it. :love:

Got a message from Groucho a short while ago. He said Edinburgh Castle is awesome! The kitties took a guided tour and they agreed the big hall would be the purrfect place for one of their parties. The guide let them try on the armor and they had a blast pretending to be knights. The climb up to one of the turrets was a workout but he said the view was well worth the effort. A few of them went up Walter Scott's Monument and were very impressed with the size of Prince's Park. The kitties relaxed by the floral clock and enjoyed a traditional Scottish feast, the haggis was a huge hit! After all their walking and climbing they were happy to have time for a nap by the floral clock before going to the Tattoo.

Several kitties found kitty collars with their clan tartan at one of the tartan shops along the Royal Mile. Sydney, Ming, and Bob have decided to take bagpipe lessons! All the kitties were surprised to learn that in Scotland only the men wear kilts. Groucho said the Killearn lassies are excellent tour guides and tomorrow they all will take a ride on a double decker bus for a tour of Edinburgh.

Hmm, I'm not sure folks, I hear conflicting reports of this Gretna Green trip. Some say that Merlin wanted to show his sweetheart around such a romantic place - with no further intention. I just don't know what to think!

The Loch Ness Trip was a fabulous success. The kitties all loved the romantic look and feel of the place. That is all the information I got!

They all boarded the Glasgow to Chicago plane around 4 o'clock this afternoon, so they should arrive around 6pm Chicago time. Hopefully loads of time to get the babies home for the party.

The catmobile did take a quick tour of the fort before they left. There is a special civil war weekend here and everyone dresses up in period costumes at the fort. Not to be missed when it's right under their noses. :D

Groucho and a few of the other Catmobile kitties got in late last night. They stayed overnight and now are on their way to the train station and the airport, all of them slept in late this morning.

From what they said before falling sound asleep, this was the best Catmobile trip yet. Scotland was wonderful with so many things to see and do plus new foods to taste. Angel was thrilled that all of her friends were at her birthday party! It was an absolute blast!

Fellow purrents, we have an exhausted but excited group of kitties coming home. Can't wait to hear the details of this trip!

I haven't heard much from either of them, unless you call Ming practicing his bagpipe playing hearing something! It's more like torture to the ears. But...he is improving. He can almost play Scotland the Brave so that you can recognize the melody!

Bob is becoming quite the bagpipe virtuoso! He is especially good at playing the Wedding March, for some reason.

I asked Sparkler what went on about pink fur and bridesmaids during the trip. She said, "Meowm, you know that what happens on the Catmobile stays on the Catmobile!"

Then she rolled over onto her back, closed her eyes and did her little kitty grin, and started purring to the melody of the Wedding March..

I figured I could get more info from Mac than from Ming, so I asked him if he knew anything about bridesmaids and such. He denied knowing anything but when I looked in his cubby in the cat tree I found a dried boutinniere. Hmmm.

My girls still are evasive about any wedding chat, but they say that the bagpipe seller and trainer on the Royal Mile claimed Ming and Bob were natural talents!
