Cell phone numbers go public this month. All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to get sales calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS.

To prevent this, call 888-382-1222. It's the National Do Not Call List and blocks your number for 5 years. You must call from the cell phone number you want blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

This is false, and has been going around for years!

Then why, when you call the number, does it explain that by calling the # from the subject phone, you won't be bothered by telemarketers????

Because it is, in fact, a national do not all registry for the FCC.

HOWEVER:

Sales pitches to cells are illegal on most cases

THere's no deadline to put the # in the do not call registry

Cell phones aren't "going public this month".

I got the exact same message when I called. Now if it would include unwanted campaign calls from political candidates!
