I have looked at almost every single pet from May - present, and I can't help but notice the absence of cats and dogs. I love Pet of the Day, but quite frankly I'm getting a little tired of seeing hamsters, ferrets, rats, and guinea pigs. Not to sound negative, that's not my tone here. Just curiously asking why cats and dogs are left out of the Pet of the Day (at least for the last 2.5 months).

Thanks!

Dogs and Cats each have their own sites, DogoftheDay.com (http://DogoftheDay.com) and CatoftheDay.com (http://CatoftheDay.com). When we started the site in September 1997, we featured everyone on pet of the Day, but the dogs and cats outnumbered everyone else, so they got their own sites, beginning September 1998, a year later.

If you look at the top of this page, you'll see a dog icon and a cat icon. And on the Pet of the Day page, icons are on the left side, linking to each day's new honoree!

I can imagine that would be upsetting if you didn't know there was a Dog of the Day and a Cat of the Day. Welcome to PT , Love. Enjoy!!!:)

I watched DOTD for quite a while before I realized there was a COTD or POTD. It was even longer before I realized there was a wonderful forum to go with them!:D
