Prayers needed for Finn

It's been awhile since I've been on the forum, but facebook reaches so many more of my friends and family...and I try hard not to spend more than 30 minutes to an hour online. Anyway...

For those that know me and my lovely yellow boy, Finn...please pray for him. We noticed a mass near his tail and rectum on Thursday and I took him to the vet today. He is going in for surgery Tuesday morning to have it removed. My vet thinks it's a tumor, but won't know any more until tuesday.

Money is really tight since we just bought a house and luckily I've been going to the same vet for about 15 years. She is going to work with us, but I also need prayers that we can weather this storm financially as well as emotionally. It's really scary in both areas.

Thanks in advance for the prayers, as I know several of you will be prayer warriors for my boy. :)

Thanks, guys. I'm sorry I'm not a good pet talker anymore, it's just that the internet tends to be a "trap" for me, and I really have to watch that I don't spend hours on it. Thank you for all the prayers! I'm taking him in tomorrow am, and dr. Ballard will work him in, she already had a full day. She may end up working in him on her lunch break. I hope not, but whatever it takes. The mass looks less swollen today, just about like it was Thursday when we first spotted it. I'm taking that as a good thing! I'll keep you all posted on his progress! :)

Finn's been at the vet's since 9am. I haven't heard anything about his visit, yet. I'm hoping everything is going well and that he will be home and comfortable tonight! :)

I went to pick Finn up, but we decided it would be best to leave him ovenight, as the wound is fresh and kinda bloody and oozy. Ick. He was yelling in the back, he really was having a fit about the e collar. I didn't even go see him because I thought it was just upset him more when I left again.

It's not a tumor! Yay! Dr Ballard said she thought it could have been a snake bite that abcessed, or something along those lines. It was a lot of rotten tissue when she opened it up, yuck. But he is fine, she just felt it was in his best interest to keep him a little drugged up so that he could sleep it off there at the hospital. I can't wAit to see him though.

She cleaned his teeth and cut his nails at no extra charge! She is a great vet, always has gone way above and beyond!

I'll let you all know when he is home! Thanks again, and pray for a comfortable healing night!

Good to hear that it was something relatively easy to fix. Poor Finn, and poor mom having to spend the night without him, but we know it is for the best. Give him a hug from us tomorrow!

I'm glad to hear it wasn't something more invasive like a tumor. Sounds
like the spot was very yucky, and I'm glad he has it off him. Hope he heals

Thanks everyone! Finn came home yesterday and is doing great! He keeps taking the e collar off, so I'm not making him wear it. He doesn't seem to be messing with the spot too much. Let's hope that continues! It is good to have my boy home, that's for sure. :)
