This morning on the news two girls were on a plane with their mom & pet turtle. The plane was moving on out to the runway when the turtle was discovered. The plane rolled on back to the terminal & the girls were told to dispose of the turtle or they would not be on the flight. So the two girls threw the turtle in the trash & someone saw them & picked the turtle out of the trash. One of the animal rights groups got wind of it & that turtle got to fly back to its' owners complements of the airlines. It was just a little innocent green turtle.

I read this story on the Huffington Post. One of the "little girls" was 22:eek: They were told they could take a later flight but chose to throw the turtle into the trash instead. :mad:An airport employee rescued the turtle and gave it to a friends five year old son. The girls father came back to the airport to find the turtle and when he found out someone had rescued it, he asked for it back. I blame a) the father for not checking about the regulations b) the 22 year old for not taking a later flight and sorting the turtle situation out. :( Fine example to set for the younger girls. :rolleyes:When they got home, the mom called PETA to get after the airline. :mad:Nice.

Are we talking about the same girls? The girls & their mother were on the Today show this morning. They didn't look to be over 13 years old. I am just glad the turtles' life was saved & he got a free flight home.

How can any one do that to a poor defenseless turtle?

Whoever gave the turtle back to someone who THREW IT AWAY needs a punch in the face.

As usual, the media doesn't tell the WHOLE story. The three sisters were 10, 13 & 22. The mom is looking to make a buck and sell the story no doubt. Shameful:rolleyes:
