Hi everyone. I was just informed by one of the rescue group women of FOSMAS that there's a special needs kitten that will need a home soon. The male kitten looks like a Flame Point with medium fur so it could also have Himalayan in it. He's only 6-7 weeks old right now and he weighs about 1 1/2 lbs. In about 2-3 weeks when he's at least 2lbs he'll be neutered and then he has to have both of his eyes removed. They think he has either a genetic defect in them or he got a herpes virus or some other virus in them.

She would like the potential adopter to be from either the San Jose or San Francisco area. If you live in the Northern CA area that would probably be fine too. She just wants some one fairly local in case the adoption doesn't work out so that he could be returned. If you're interested in him you can e-mail Ava Geddes at [email protected]. Thanks.

Awww, I am still debating on getting another kitty. But I don't think my home is the right home for this little guy. With my two dogs that like to "chase" the cat. He is adorable and I hope he finds a good home. :)

I'm in Redwood City, if my husband weren't deathly allergic, that baby boy would be mine :(

He looks like such a sweet soul, I hope he finds a loving nurturing home soon.

As far as I know his eyes don't function properly so he'll have both of his eyes removed when they do his neuter surgery. He'll then be blind.:( The woman said that even right now he can't really see much so he probably won't miss his eyes as much as a sighted cat would.

She also mentioned that right now he has some diarrhea that they're trying to get under control.:( It may be from a food change, the stress of a new foster home, or it could be caused by parasites. They're giving him all of the meds necessary to clear this up. As far as I know he's healthy other than this.

Well, Magoo taught us all that being blind is nothing for a cat so he will be fine in that area. Only until he learns his new home will he need anything special and that's just a pair of eyes to make sure he don't get into any trouble on his own. The rest it sounds like they are getting a handle on.. GOOD LUCK LITTLE GUY!

 Awee this Baby is so Precious.. If I was closer I would take him in a heartbeat..
My Bogart which was born with no eyes == gets around just like if he has them.. He goes any & everywhere.. This baby will be fine.. I hope he gets a good home soon to settle in..

I am serious about wanting him but I don't live in California so there would be no way.
