Thanks Jen! They're all lovely cats. I just adore Sterling's colouring, Lucas's darling face and I've always been a sucker for a white cat a la Monte. And the others are divine too. Thank you for posting :)

And Sara, I never get sick of Tinky and Jupiter pics :)

OH OH OH!! What precious babies all!! Of course I'm biased when it comes to white kitties, so Monte is of course a looker...but all of them are absolutely precious.

How annoyingly cute is this picture???

Cuteness overload!!!!!!!! :D LOL It's the kitty version of 'spoons'! :D

Sara, Tinky and Jupiter are so adorable. I still just love how they complement each other. They really do look like brother and sister! I just love the kitchen floor pic...LOL LOL That's certainly a common scene in my home! I just love Jupiter's belly! Cute white splotches! Does he like belly rubs??

I love all of your cat photos. It is so cute the way that your cats use the buddy system when they sleep. But with 11 cats isn't there always one left over to sleep with you or do the whole bunch of them like to crowd you out of the bed?:) Ashley looks like quite the gymnast kitty. I also love that spotted belly on Sterling.
Sara, its nice to see some new photos of your cuties too!:)

Wonderful kitties!!!! It always cheers me up to come to this site and see so many gorgeous babies whose owners love them to pieces. The look of pure joy on Tinky's face in the grass is priceless. That is the one thing that I really lament, is that I don't have an outdoor space where the kitty can run free. I take him out on the harness and leash, but it's not the same, and I rarely have time to take him for a "stand" (since kitties don't actually go for "walks"). My treasured spouse won't let me fence in the backyard because it would not be "aesthetically pleasing" - :( Who cares? It's OUR backyard! There's only 2 neighbors that can see it, and it's none of their business. Maybe when he's away on vacation one of these times I'll just fence the damn thing in and there won't be anything he can say about it then.:D :D :D :D

Jen you certainly have photogenic cats. They must really love each other to cuddle so close to one another. I am guessing that the grey chair is thier private domain. Its a good ideer to put a towl on the chair both for thier comfort and to make cleanup a lot easier. What a clowder of great looking , well looked after cats!!!:D   Your Pen Pal Catmandu

First you guys had me convinced that I needed forty litter boxes for six cats..so I converted my home to a sandbox...now you say that towels on the chair are the way to go...great, now I need a house-sized sheet to protect my furniture. FORGET IT..I am moving outside to a little pup (sorry cats) tent. The herd gets the house!!!!

Now that I have all my jokes out of the way...great pics JLB! Such loving cats, how sweet. But, is one always left over if they pair off? And, nice to see our cats are the same- even with a big bed, all four of them are straight down the middle, making it hard to sleep comfortably. Do all 11 sleep with you guys? I have a tough time with just me and the four I usually end up with...

Well, thank heavens' NO. But 6 makes it difficult enough. My husband gets the worst of it though. 3 down one side of him, 3 down the other side (between us) then possibly 1 or 2 on the foot of the bed or my side (I push them off, he doesn't). I can actually hear him groan at night trying to turn over HEE HEE

On the topic of sleeping with cats - my dear departed girl kitty was a challenge, to be sure. She started a habit of sleeping ON MY HEAD from the time she was a baby. She would start out by wrapping herself around my neck, under my chin, but eventually would end up directly on top of the side of my head at some point in the night. She would also start her 90 decibel purr, which was being funneled directly into my ear. Add to this my husband's snoring, and it was a wonder I could get any sleep at night. When she would finally get off my head (usually when I started suffocating in cat fur and pushed her off), she would then travel down to my (excuse this bad visual) groin area, where she would curl up directly between my legs at the highest point. I remember waking up in a most obscene position many times, with my legs splayed as far apart as they could go so as not to disturb my precious kitty. Boy kitty, on the other hand, is very considerate. He works with me during the night to avoid being crushed, instead of the other way around. I usually wake up and find him alongside me. In the winter months, he will sometimes come under the covers alongside, with just his little head sticking out.

I think somebody should start a thread about kitties in the bedroom in general - I don't want to be the first one to mention some antics that happened during ...............;) :p

All Creatures Great And Small ----

I think anyone whose cats and dogs think they own the bed know exactly what you are talking about.
My cat, Slushy, insists on sleeping on the pillow/my head and purring at a deafening level...the other cat, Dawn, sleeps around the leg area or wherever she can sneak in between me and my husband. Not to mention I have an 80+lb black lab who won't be left out of anything...luckily though she thinks the floor is the safest place to be....and she may be right.

I LOVE the spooning kitties. How beautiful! I've tried to photograph my two sleeping together, but they're both black and they end up looking like a big black ball. Not very photogenic, so I'll just admire yours!:)

Such wonderful pictures!!! I wish I had some new ones of mine, but for you "newbies", perhaps these will look new!!

Here's Butter (that bad boy):

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b2d922b3127cce9ef9a76fac670000003410

And here's the princess, Mimi:

And by the way, you will NEVER catch my two "spooning"!! They hardly even go in the same room with each other!!!! :o

Logan,
Am I correct in assuming that it is Mimi who does not like Butter? (vs. the other way around)
Now let me tell you why I say that (besides having a 50% chance of being correct): Long haired cats that are Mimi's color always seem to have their own agenda. (I've had 2 and also have worked with some at the grooming shop)
Well, either way they are gorgeous. And I can see his name is butter because, as my Mom always said, "A look on his face like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth".

Logan
10-23-2002, 02:10 PM
Jen, you are 100% correct!!! That six pound girl, Mimi, who is 13 years old, hisses at him every single time he walks near her. And Butter, who is probably 15 pounds, is scared of her!!!! LOL!!! I'm glad. Because if he hurt her a single time, he'd be out. She was here first. They have learned to co-exist, but she hates him. And on occasion, he just can't stand it, and must chase her!!! Wish he wouldn't, but she puts him in his place very quickly!! :D

Butter got his name, originally, because of his "butterscotch" highlights.........but your mom's reasoning is much more sound!!! LOL!!! I do love him though......don't get me wrong about that.

Logan, what kind of cat is Butter, do you know? He has very similar coloring as my Bo does. And Bo has the same bright blue eyes. Bo's flame points are a little more muted than Butter's, but I don't see that color of cat often.

Edwina's Secretary
10-23-2002, 02:19 PM
Logan -- never say "never." Who knows what might happen after your move???? When we moved (to a larger house) Edwina's behavior changed in ways...she became more of a cuddler -- lap, bed...more sociable.

She likes to sleep in the curve behind my knees at night. After a few hours in the same position I begin to ache and need to turn over. I jiggle my legs...she gets up and moves off a bit with a HUGE sigh and sits waiting.... I turn over, get comfortable and she promptly returns to her position snuggled up against my legs. We may go through this procedure three or so times each night....

You do realize that what he needs is a cat friend that will NOT hiss at him, if you know what I mean.;) ;) :D ;) ;)

Ooooooooohhhh, I must not let Scott see these replies!!!! LOL!!! He is NOT a cat person, but I'm working on changing that. But Scott doesn't like Butter any more than Mimi does....Butter bit him on our second date and has done it several more times since then, completely unprovoked! Maybe Butter is jealous of another man being in the house! Butter doesn't like other cats at all. He is constantly bleeding from some wound he got in a cat fight. His only respect is for Mimi.

JEN!!!! Shame on you!!! I don't think there are any more cats in my immediate future, although I'd love to adopt one. I love cats. I love dogs. I love birds, and hamsters, and Chinchillas and Hedgehogs, and Parakeets, Guinea Pigs, and Lovebirds, and bunnies......I am completely hopeless!!!! But with two big dogs, and a third one on its way (in 58 days  ) plus the two cats, two Cockatiels and a hamster, we have enough.

Boscibo, from what others have told me, Butter probably has some flame point Siamese in him. He just showed up here, around Christmas/New Years in 2000. It was so very cold here, and I finally couldn't stand it any more and let him in. He never left!!

I know very little of his history, except that I did eventually find a lady who had been feeding him, outdoors, for about six months before he ventured over the creek and came here. He "yowls' like a Siamese. And he is very, very loving at times. But is quite unpredictable. The nice thing (a redeeming quality) is that he likes to be where I am. He gets "near", whether it is in my office, the living room, my bedroom, the shower, etc. And he adores my dogs. And they LOVE to play with him. They have great games of chasing Butter up the tree, and he comes down and it starts all over!! I think this boy fended for himself for a long time. My vet estimates his age at 4-5 years old. I had him checked over thoroughly and neutered, immediately. And I keep hoping that as he ages, he will settle down a little and become more trusting of me. He never bites my daughter, but I have lots and lots of scars from giving him a little too much loving. But he does sleep with me every single night that he is inside. Don't know what he will do when I get married and have someone else in the bed with me!! LOL!! We'll soon find out!! Butter's side of the bed will soon become Scott's side of the bed, and it will be interesting to see where Mr. Butter decides to land.

Sorry for the epistle!!!
Logan :o
