This is about a week late, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter!

This is from my first lesson in a little over three months so don't laugh too hard at my AWESOME steering skills. Oh, and I did get the last lead change right after the video ended.

It's a far cry from the 3'6" I jumped Brooke last December, but hey it's better than riding Sir William (my stick horse). :)

I rode again on Friday and we practiced our flying changes since Brooke is still a bit of a baby (she's like...6 or something). Everyone said that the lead changes I got Brooke to do were the smoothest ones they've ever seen her do! Ever! I felt special :)

Of course, after that jumping was a disaster (my fault) and..well...we ran into a jump standard :) (the blue barrels in the video).

It feels goooood to be riding again.

Here are some old pictures of my favorite pony:

^^ Would you be amazed if I said I was 5'9"? She really is a monster!

Thanks :)

Now I just need to magically find a REALLY well paying job that's looking to hire me so I can lease this beast. Because I really, really want to. I haven't felt this good on a horse (or pony) since Junior, and I haven't really RIDDEN Junior in two years. He's not even at the barn anymore! :(

Lovely horse, and nice jumping! I went back to jumping a few weeks back after a very long break. I am awful! I can't believe how much jump position killed my back and ankles. The long stirrups of dressage for me, please! ;)

I really hope that you can lease this horse because it looks like you have such a great partnership. You can tell in the video that she is really working and listening to you. Great job!

Yeah, I'm pretty awful too right now. I lost any ability to see distances. At all. We were getting buried into the jump, leaping from a mile away...but thank god Brooke put up with me cause it woulda been a long fall! Most other horses would have refused and been done with me with what I was getting her into.

Thanks :)

I'm not sure of her exact height, but I believeshe's around 17.1-17.2 (she's a touch shorter than the 17.3 horse at the barn, but not by much). Then again, she's a Percheron x Thoroughbred (as i was told by my old trainer) so it's not surprising that she's so big. Or so THICK!

Thank you :)
