We've been to Lanzarote for 1 week!! Pics included

After a long cold winter, we were so much looking forward to warmer weather.
So we decided to spend a week on Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands.
We went from March 20th till March 27th.
It was a big hoot!!!
Oh my, the weather was so fantastic!! Sun every day, NO rain at all, beautiful scenery, relax, relax, and relax!!!!!!

Lanzarote is a volcanic island, which makes it very special!
The last volcanic eruptions date from early 19th century, so that is only "a few" years ago in earth's history!
This week was perfect to upload our batteries ;)!! Of course we missed our cats tremendously, but our kids took great care of them:)

I've always wanted to visit the Canary Islands, but been a bit put off by the reputation of them being full of rowdy British drunkards in the summer season. :o From those pictures, it certainly looks very idyllic! I'd love to see those volcanic ash beaches for myself. Glad you had a good holiday and thank you for sharing your holiday snaps. :)

That's the reputation of Tenerife(Canary islands) and also of Ibiza(in the Mediterranean See). We saw a few British people, but tons of Germans.
The athmosphere was very calm and relaxing:)

You should have let me know you were going to Lanzarote, I have friends living there. They rent out a few rooms in their house in Haria (in the very North). However, it's far away from the tourist places, but they have an absolutely lovely garden Bernard would have loved! My friend's husband is into gardening big time! See their website!

John and I visited them in 1998. I agree Lanzarote is a very peaceful place, so it's great for pure relaxation. We went on some tours with our friends of course and saw places the normal tourist don't, but also went to Timanfaya and saw how fast you can boil an egg. ;)

I am so jealous! What a beautiful Island and place to spend a vacation. I am glad to hear you guys had a great time and saw all these magnifcant sights. I love the scenery shots as well. The Canary Islands are gorgeous, I just completed a project on them for Spanish class, and now I want to visit them even more. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. :) I really enjoyed them.

Darn......... I wish I had told you.......!
We've been in Heria, on our way back from Mirador del Rio!! A garden there is so unusable, because the only things that grow on most places are cactus and palm trees! But we will be back, so thanks for the link!!!

Our hotel was very good for people with younger kids, and reasonable in price!!
