*Update* Pics and Wedding Ideas...

Hi all Pters!

For any of you who read my thread earlier, you know that recently in December I got engaged! Daniel and I were together for just about 2 years when he proposed. He proposed at night on a gazebo and it was very sweet. We decided on a date pretty quickly and are getting married October 2nd this year.

I though maybe some of you would like to see some pictures and I would love to get ideas on our wedding. Our wedding colors are going to be Pink and Brown, cause Pink is my favorite color and brown is his. So far we have pink and brown petals for our flower girl, we will have a pink and brown guestbook, flower basket, pin holder...we also have some pink and brown hearts to string across maybe the main table.

So if there are any ideas you may have definately post them. We are going to get married at our church, and then have a reception in probably a Hall. If any of you happen to go on ebay and ever see anything definatly remember me and let me know.

Well, here are some pictures of me and Daniel throughout the year.

This picture here was about 6 months into our relationship. I am about 2 and a half years older than Daniel, so when we got together he was finishing grade 12. I never went to my own prom due to my very first boyfriend of one year dumped me about a month or so before it, so I finally got to go to a prom.

We knew each other for almost 10 years cause we went to the same church...lol and back then we never would have imagined we would end up together lol.

And here is my engagement ring! Daniel is now 20 and I am 22...soon to be 23. I was so surprised...he was in college working only part-time and managed to save up enough money to still get me a gorgeous ring. He is an amazing guy...not too many college guys can get engaged.

We haven't got any updated pictures yet, but we plan to get engagement pictures done this month or next month so I will post those pictures then.

So, this is the wedding dress I am planning on getting...I know its from ebay, but hey my sister bought from this woman for her wedding. It's a chinese lady and she makes the dresses when you order them. My sisters dress came and looked just beautiful.

Because she custom makes them, you can probably have her just adjust the V so it doesn't go as deep, or fill it in with the same color pink as the rose will be. Lovely dress!

Now's the time to look for discounted Valentine's stuff, you can probably find pink and even brown heart stuff inexpensively right about now!

That's a good idea, I could ask that! Yeah, thanks to the valentine's stuff, I was able to buy two packages of pink petals, and also pink tensil ribbon...that stuff you can curl with your scissors. I plan to put that around some wedding bubbles.

Wow, thanks so much everyone!!! I'm glad you all like my dress...I was looking at your replies and Daniel almost just saw it! I was like Ah! And hid the computer right quick...but anyway I really am glad you all like it, I wasn't sure about it at first...like if it looked too noblest or something.

Husky Mom all those links are great, thank you! We also have my sister's mother in law who makes cakes, and she is going to make a cake for us for free as our wedding gift :) One of the pictures on your google images had a gorgeous pink and brown cake, that would be a great idea to show her.

I use to think the exact same thing lol I love watching those movies that are back when women wore beautiful corset dresses everyday. I wish it was like that now, we would all look so pretty :D

I love that show on t.v. that has the brides going into an exclusive bridal shop in NYC, to try on and pick out gowns. I have never seen such gorgeous dresses - but my oh my - the prices!!!!! I just can't see putting out thousands for a dress that you will have on for a few hours. :eek::confused:

So we thought it would be super cute if they went up together or the little girl follows her brother. The only thing we face now is finding a dress and miniature tux for the little ones. I too didn´t wanted to spend that much on a dress.. mine was pretty IMO and really a bargain.. hehe..

for the lil ones you can try a rental place... maybe for the boy so he wears it that day only... and for the girl you could try ebay too.. a nice lil dress.. or a store near you.. like W... sometimes they have very pretty dresses and one might just be the one....

Having said that, Kalei, the dress you showed us was stunning! My colleague funded her whole wedding via Ebay - dress material, shoes, tiaras and who knows what else and she looked fabulous just like you will :love:

Just tuning into this thread. The first dress is beautiful. The second dress is very elegant and I think I like it better. It will be much easier to navigate around in the second dress. I know it is just for one day but it will make your day a little easier. I also love that one-year anniversary ring he gave you. how sweet!

oops i had not seen the other dress when i first posted my reply, i have to say either of them are just gorgeous, and i think it depends what look you are going for ,i think i actually prefer the second one now,but both are stunning as you will be on the day.

Also i don't think it matters what you spend on a dress, as long as you are happy with your choice.

The first dress is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. It is a princess dress.
The second dress is not as special, kind of pain next to the first one. But that is me.

Hey everyone,

My parents have offered us something different now. To make a long story short, it is very very VERY difficult living with my fiance's parents and it is a struggle almost every day for me. I have cried many times for almost a year now because it is so stressful on me.

So anyways, my parents said that instead of having a fancy reception (they booked it at the Days Inn and it will cost about 2500 dollars) we could have our wedding way earlier (like in the summer) and have it cheaper...like have a potluck. And they will give us the 3000 dollars to go to our future apartment. 3000 dollars is like 4 months rent:eek: So basically we would be able to be moved out on our own in July, instead of October.

We are having a really hard time deciding what we want to do. In many ways we still want to have our wedding in October like planned with the really nice reception, but in some ways (like another stressful incident that happened tonight with me) we really want to get out as soon as possible.

I don't know what to do, it is such a hard decision! Sigh....

lol...why does life have to be so hard with so many decisions? lol

a big nice reception is that.. nice.. but it only lasts one night.. and considering living with the IL´s.. well been there done that.. I´d rather have a smaller one but equally as great.. you really doný need to spend that much to have a great wedding.. and use the $$ for my own place... either way.. you can wait till oct.. but go to your folks till then so you don´t get as stressed

Hey Everyone,

It's only 1 month and 2 days until my wedding! I can't believe the time has gone by that fast! And of course now that it's so close I'm starting to get a little stressed about things lol

I got my princess dress that I showed you all a picture of in the earlier posts and it fits me so good and it looks great!! I also have all my girls dresses. I got all of them on ebay..so my dress plus 3 bridesmaid dresses in total costed me 400...isn't that great! People always say they would never get a dress from ebay, but mine all look amazing and they all fit great!

I can't wait until the wedding, and I just can't wait to post the pictures of the wedding for all of you to see :)

I think it will be very nice. At this point I just can't wait to say "I do" enjoy my day and have money again lol

We have our home already, I now live in an apartment and not with parents anymore...thank goodness lol I can have all of my pets again :)

That's great that you paid for your bridesmaids dresses. All 5 of the weddings I've been in I've had to pay for my own dress. Not a big deal, really.
