I am not a regular viewer .....but I find it interesting that Kate, who claims her kids come first, is going to do this......It takes a lot of time!!!!! My nephew used to work for an aquarium place, and he would go out to homes and clean aquariums. Well, when Emmitt Smith was involved with Dancing With the Stars, Nick, my nephew, went to his house to do his regular aquarium service. Emmitt's little boy just latched onto Nick....he said his daddy was never home. Nick stayed and played video games with him because he felt so sorry for him. Emmitt's little boy cried when Nick left. So, is she gonna lug all 8 kids and the nanny with her to wherever they rehearse and film? Sheesh.....That show is very time consuming.....I guess she is trying to get herself back into the media limelight...

I just read where she is supposed to do her practicing near her home in PA - because afterall - her kids come first! I wonder how she pulls that off? Is her partner coming to PA???

I think Dancing is starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Can Octomom be far behind?:eek:

You know, I actually liked their show and was sad to see how it blew up. But I must agree. I thought the same thing. She's going to be away from the kids a lot. I guess Jon could take this as an advantage overall.
But I have a feeling she won't last long on the show anyway.
Oh, and yes, she wants to be back in the spotlight. She even said on the last show of Jon & Kate Plus 8 that she wanted to do something in television. Like host her own talk show or something. So this is just her way to get back into it.
Plus, I'm sure the network is thinking she will pull in viewers for the drama.
It seems to me that this show is turning into Dancing with the non-stars. Shannen Doherty? Pam Anderson....really. What has she done lately??

But I'll still watch it.

I think it's a good move for her. Every working mother leaves their kids (to some extent) in the care of others. I don't think she could have a regular job. Maybe she'll go back to nursing some day but until then she can get a bigger paycheck cashing in on her "fame".

Besides, she probably can't afford wait for Jon to start earning a paycheck. I don't think they pay home porn movie makers very much. :p

LOLOLOLOLOL,

IF KG had to go to a nudie bar and dance to support her kids, most of us would say, GOOD FOR HER!:eek:;)

In essence? She doing the same thing. Shame on her for not going nude, she would make more money and not have to work as hard?

------------

I'll watch just to see her berate the guy she's teamed with. KG is a selfish shrew that deserve scorn and should have 75% of her kid to grow up maladjusted.
It's only fair because of what her and her husband did to their family.

Morons, all of them!;)

But I'll still watch it.

Yep, I'll be watching it too. Kate is such a perfectionist and has unreasonable expectations of herself and others -- not to mention all the phobias she seems to have..... Even if she does a great job, I don't think she has enough "fans" to keep her on very long.

Does anyone know if they pay these people anything or is this something D-list celebs do to get publicity?

I don't really see how it's so different from any of the other moms who have been on the show, besides the number of kids she has. Maybe that she's divorced makes a difference? Brooke Burke comes to mind, she has something like four young children. I don't personally like the show as much as I used to, and I have never liked Kate gosselin, so I don't know that I'll watch this season. Maybe it'll do her some good to dance, sometimes it helps people with some of their "issues." I don't think it's fair and it's definitely a double standard to question whether she should do it and not any of the other moms or dads that have been and will be on the show.

I heard her on ET or Extra tonight that they will practice in her basement when kids are home from school. Yep, that will work perfect NOT (kids in and out bugging them).

During school hours they will go to a dance studio nearby. She will fly back and forth for actual show.

Yep they get paid $200,000 (doesnt matter when they get booted off). Yep she is doing it for the money. Here's the link to payments http://www.imnotobsessed.com/2009/03/23/dancing-with-the-stars-celebrity-salaries-revealed

The men: Buzz Aldrin, Evan Lysacek, Chad Ochocinco, Jake Pavelka, Aiden Turner
The women: Pamela Anderson, Erin Andrews, Shannen Doherty, Kate Gosselin, Niecy Nash, Nicole Scherzinger

I can't see Tony Dovolani agreeing to rehearse in Kate's basement. My two cents are on Evan Lysacek.

Kate was not good.....at all. I was actually hoping she'd do better than she did. Her smile seemed so fake, it was annoying me. But I think she was just very nervous.

Pamela Anderson appeared to be drunk or on drugs. She was a freak!

I really liked Chad Ochocinco and Erin Andrews. I also thought Niecy Nash did a good job too. I loved what she said about her "jiggly parts". LOL

I'm not a big fan of Shannen Doherty, but I did feel her emotions about her father were genuine. Her dad was so cute in the audience.

I also agree with Grace, I won't be sad to see several of them gone. I have a feeling Buzz will stick around only because of his fame. But if I had to predict who would leave next week it would be Buzz or Kate.

I might have watched DWTS this season because Buzz Aldrin is on - I mean, what science geek wouldn't want the astronaut to win, right? And, for nay sayers, how could a choreographer resist having one of the handful of people who have actually walked on the moon do "the moonwalk," - it was inevitable! That said, I am refusing to watch because I don't care to see or hear anything more about Kate Gosselin.

What a mess!!!

I also agree with Gretchen.

Nicole has a clear advantage over all the others with her dancing background. The woman is a steel fortress. I really enjoyed her and Derek. They were awesome but a little too polished right off the top.

What was with that smile that Kate couldn't get rid of? I thought her mouth was glued in that position. It was getting on my nerves too.
She seems to have this, "I'll show them" attitude all the time, no matter what it takes. I actually felt a little sorry for her watching her dance though.

Buzz Aldrin......Oh My Goodness. He is 80 years old but his smile was also glued on. Is there a special glue for these events?;):rolleyes:

Pam Anderson was her normal self. What is she going to do when that body and face completely go?

Kate has no rhythm, and that is something you cannot learn, either you have it or ya don't. She will never be a good dancer and it was painful to watch.
I wish she would stay home with the 8 kids she made and take care of them instead of trying to be a star be it by dancing, writing, being on TV.
The kids need a mommy, not a diva.
Buzz one of my heros, time to hang it up grandpa.
Pam was a sex kitten, I wish I could move like her once again, (took dance lessons in my 20's and loved loved loved it) but weak knees and a lot of back problems keep me from doing that, still I might try to do some dancing again. Would be fun.
Weather you like Pam or not she is a cutie on the dance floor.

LOL,

Will someone please tell "Erring" Andrews she's a moron? Also, KG is a PITA.

Enough already.

Kate has to learn her whiny, petty attitude that somehow popping out a litter isn't all that special anymore?

I saw pics of her during her hair style changes, but had to reel in my comments.....She's a good looking shell with a real Caramel Nougat Evil/Ugly
center to her.

She's a rag.

I think it will come down to between Nicole and Evan in the end. At least I hope so.

And Kate just has to be a drama queen - even on this show. Did you see her "display" last night that they showed of her practice? Her so-called dancing is really pathetic.

It's either going to be her or Buzz that gets booted tonight. Poor Buzz - he's just too old to pull it off. Hey - Chloris Leachman was up there in years, but she wasn't all that bad, and she had a sense of humor to carry her thru. She looked like she was really having fun - but Buzz???????? He looks like he's hoping and praying that he makes it to the end of the dance without checking out.

It was painful watching Kate. She's never going to be a dancer. She's never going to let herself relax and enjoy it either.

My take on her: I know she comes across as bossy and rigid. I know people like this. They have phobias. They are terrified of new experiences. They try to control every aspect so that they aren't so terrified. I think that's why she comes across as a monster. She is not flexible (and I'm not just talking her body). She can't adjust to different things easily. She was just trying to tell her partner that she can only learn a certain way (what that one way is, I don't know), but whatever he's showing her, she isn't picking up on it. I think she has low self-esteme. What she said about people quitting on her is true. Because of her lack of flexibility she is high maintenance for everyone in her life. Eventually, we all give up on people who are that needy. She's sad. I wish her well in whatever she does next -- 'cuz I don't think she's long for the DWTS show.

Bingo!

You hit that on the head.

She has some kind of mental thing going....she'll freak out if it's not her way, that's too bad.

I always thought that she was a perfectionist and heaven help anyone who doesn't meet her standards. Sometimes it's easier to ignore the behavior and give in when people like that throw a tantrum.:(

Just curious. Has anyone ever heard how they pair up the dancers - who gets who? Do they draw names??? It seems Cherly Burke had a good run there for a while, but has been getting duds lately. Maybe they don't want her to win anymore, since she's had her share of wins already. :p

I was surprised at last night's outcome. Of course I wasn't surprised at KG's attitude. Did you notice the sullen, pouty look on her face? I wish she had gotten the boot - then she'd have something to pout about! :p

I so agree about KG's pouty face. Sure do wish she had gone last night.

I heard that Mark Ballas tore the muscle in his knee from the bone (the MRI showed) and will be out for six weeks. If Shannen had stayed, she would have had to get a new partner.

Some of the people on DWTS have been people I enjoy on their tv series or whatever, but I just cannot sit and watch it for any length of time. I just don't enjoy it. Not even Kristy Yamaguchi being on could get me interested(I'm a big skating fan).

However, if I *were* going to watch the show, knowing Kate Gosselin were on it, is enough to make me run the other way. I could never stand the way she was on John & Kate Plus 8, a show I only watched a handful of times.

My husband watches TMZ every week night. Last night they had a clip of Kate and her professional dancer partner. Apparently SHE was trying to tell HIM how to teach her how to dance and she walked away all disgusted saying "I quit" from the practice.

I thought Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough's "Anything Goes" quickstep was terrific, but the judges didn't feel it was true to form. I think they're being overly critical of him. I just happened to catch both Pam Anderson and this performance the other night.
I totally enjoyed the "Anything Goes" routine! Despite saying it wasn't true to form (which I have NO IDEA what true to form would be for the quickstep) they got high scores.

On looks alone, I pick ex-NBA player Rick Fox .

Oh yes indeed - I'm with ya' on that one.

He's paired with Cheryl Burke. If he's any good, they should put on a good show together. And he's so tall and she's so tiny. Wonder how that will work out?

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough paired together. Just based on the way I've seen them both dance, I'll bet they will be an awesome pair.

This season should be good! :D

This show is just a popularity contest.
The worst dancer should go home. But, the public votes for their favorites.

For whatever reason, the public is keeping a certain young lady around.
Maybe (like Kate Gosselin last year) the public votes for her because she'll get more money for every week she stays and she's got a child to raise.

And usually the people in the finals are good dancers, at least. But yes, it is a popularity contest. That is correct.

So, my question is - after tonight, who would you send home?

That was, IMHO, the best night of dancing I have ever seen on DWTS. Each of the four couples was spectacular, sublime - without exception.

pomtzu
11-16-2010, 05:28 AM
Based just on last night's dancing, I couldn't decide who to send home. They ALL were fantastic. But taking into consideration all the dances from the start, it would have to be Bristol. I have to say tho - she is really good, and if they had an award for "most improved", she would get it. Overall, I think this has been the best season ever.

I'm sticking with Jennifer to win it. She's awesome.

I watched it last night. Is it ME, or have they been giving Bristol alot of publicity lately? Just an observation.

Jennifer Gray is the epitome of grace and elegance. I tried to call in and got the buzy signal. They won't DARE send her home!

BTW, did anyone watch Sara Palin's Alaska the other night? I did just cuz I was bored. I sat there, shook my head through the first 15 minutes and shut if off.

The apple don't fall far from the tree. Bristol's little sister Willow, tried to sneak her boyfriend up into her bedroom. UGH!! Can you say BIRTH CONTROL??? I hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Grace
11-16-2010, 08:34 AM
I, also, want Jennifer to win - and managed to wait it through the busy signals last night and cast my 5 votes for her.

I agree Bristol should leave - she should have left a few weeks back. But last night was really something. Everyone danced so well.

I read this article (http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/11/15/bristol-palin-battles-the-dwts-conspiracy-theories/) last night. Thought the remarks of Tom Bergeron interesting, and I have felt much like Erin Andrews - wanting Max to finally win.

I don't really get the whole nastiness toward Bristol. I mean, she's not exuding personality, but she's not a "negative nancy" either. (Kate was exuding personality, but almost 100% negative, I can see heated remarks about her, although I think some of them still become too personal...like people actually know her.) I have loved watching Bristol for a few reasons, but mostly because she seems like the most "normal" person I've ever seen on the show. It's like watching your neighbor learn to dance in front of millions of people. Her courage is great. I don't think I could do it. She dances really well, although I think she should be the one to leave tonight. At this point, I like everyone on the show, and last night was remarkable. I do hope Jennifer wins, though, as she's been my favorite since the first show. :)

Well, she's definitely had sex haha. But, people definitely judge judge judge. You couldn't pay me to be in the middle of a political family. They really get criticized more than anyone. I definitely think she presents herself well, and seems to be a genuine young girl, and quite ordinary...put in an extraordinary situation.

I remember a few years back when Sara Evans was one of the "Stars". Thanks to Tom DeLay and his minions, she kept getting voted forward - until she withdrew because of a sudden divorce. Don't remember who was cheating on who in that marriage.

Anyway, it seems that there is a concerted campaign going on now for one particular dancer. I read on another board that there are website links and all.

If that is true - it's so wrong. I would withdraw rather than win like that. Or maybe I'm too old fashioned - thinking one should win on merit

Well, I think the winner ultimately chosen has a lot to do with talent...but a lot to do with fan base, too. There often seems to be one who really doesn't have the talent that manages to get to the finals. It says a lot for their fan base, loyalty is a big deal on this show. I remember when it was Mya vs Donnie Osmond...I wanted Mya to win, but knew Donnie Osmond had a bigger fan base. So, I wasn't completely shocked when he won. Anyway...how long do you have to wait on this thread before you can actually say names? I feel silly beating around the bush. :/

I understand Bristol is a great person and all, but she is not the best dancer. This is a DANCE competition and it angers me to see people advance just because of popularity. They snagged Tom DeLay and Tucker Carlson, but the producers of "Dancing with the Stars" won't get one politico: the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Sharpton said he’s been asked on several occasions to join the reality show but recently told TMZ: “I just turned them down again.”

"You have to have your priorities," said Sharpton. "It's different taking one night [to do] ‘Saturday Night Live’ and taking weeks to do 'Dancing with the Stars.'"

Besides, said Sharpton, he'd steal the show.

"I got moves! I'd blow them out! There'd be no chance for anybody to touch me. But I just don't have the time."

My favorites are Hines Ward, Ralph Macchio and Kirstie Alley. I think the right cast member went home last week. I think it's way to early to say who'll win, but Hines Ward has been the most consistently good so far. My heart is with Ralph Macchio, since I can't remember NOT having a crush on him, though his jive was a little too crazy. Hines was fabulous both nights. He's one of my favorite football players, and he is charming and lovely, and he and Kim (Kym?) are great together! I still have the same three favorites, although Hines Ward is edging Ralph Macchio out of the top spot for me. I LOVE Ralph Macchio, but Hines Ward is magnificent on the dance floor, and that samba last night was fantastic. I couldn't believe it when Maks fell! He and Kirstie Alley are incredible together, I LOVE their chemistry. I don't think I've ever seen Maks laugh as much as he does with Kirstie. Their dance was gorgeous, once they got going.

There's been a lot of negative talk about Chaz Bono being in this year's line-up. Does anybody think that it will affect the show itself, and people just won't tune in like they used to because of him? - or that they will watch it only because he is on?? - the freak show mentality of some folks?? I've heard some of the stupidest and most bigoted comments that's it's ridiculous. I may not personally agree with the way he has chosen to live his life, but to hear people say they don't want their kids watching the show because he is on it, is just plain stupid. It took a lot of guts for Chaz to go on the show, and also to do the documentary that he did when he went public with his transformation. Do you think that maybe the producers of the show did it for the shock value, thinking that it would up the ratings, since the show really is running out of interesting personalities to compete?? - IMO of course.

caseysmom
09-02-2011, 04:48 PM
Yes they probably did it for the ratings but I don't get the parents arguments, the kids won't even know he is transgender most likely and its not like they will get through life not seeing anything different than what their parents believe, sounds like the parents are only teaching hate.

I heard clips on the news from parents saying they would now have to explain to their children the whole concept of "transgender" because Chaz Bono is on Dancing With The Stars. But I don't see why. Chaz is a couple of years younger than me, so today's children may not even make a connection that Lacey Schwimmer's partner and the little girl who used to appear with her parents on the Sonny and Cher show in the '70s are the same person. I hope people will watch it because of Chaz. Good on ya Chaz and Lacey.

I heard that on the radio too that people were upset he was going to be on but I didn't understand why. I don't really agree with his lifestyle either but that is what he chose for himself. I don't personally find Chaz Bono appealing, but not for any other reason than he just doesn't interest me. I don't care about his transformation from a woman to a man at all. His personality just doesn't do it for me.

I would be willing to be that the same parents griping about him being on the show let their kids play video games that are inappropriate or wear inappropriate clothes or watch too much tv in the first place. If you don't want to answer questions about his sexuality, don't let them watch the show. It's really as simple as that.

There weren't any that I hated, but I do hope the NBA star goes home tomorrow. He was my least favorite immediately. Not sure why, he just really rubbed me the wrong way. I have never liked Nancy Grace or Chaz Bono, but they both seemed like they were really enjoying themselves, and I found that I enjoyed them. I have to say that Carson was my favorite to watch. I'm a big David Arquette fan, he's a complete goofball, but I really think he's got a debonair, romantic air about him . . . sorta old school Hollywood. I seriously am so annoyed with Mark Ballas, he has been bugging me for a few seasons now. It's like it's the Mark show every time he's on stage. Derek Hough is the best choreographer on the show, in my opinion. He is so good with his students. His choreography is always good, edgy but not insulting, always playing to the star's strength. And, every person he's danced with seems genuinely comfortable with him from the first dance. And he rarely, if ever, loses his cool or when being judged or says anything ridiculous. I LOVE him. Overall, the show was better than I expected.

Nancy and Chas did better than I thought they would and will probably last a few weeks anyway, but neither have a chance of going all the way. No matter what I think of either of them, I gotta give them credit for trying. And Cheryl Burke seems to be stuck with duds anymore. I liked her the first few seasons, but she has let her "fame" go to her head - IMO of course. She's just too darn uppity for me anymore. She has lost that little girl, pixie appeal that I thought was so charming in the earlier seasons.

I'm not fond of Nancy Grace, but I'd like to see her stay around for a while longer anyway. The reason?? - she is donating any and all money that she makes on the show, to the fund for missing and exploited children. That's pretty darned decent of her, and it has softened my opinion of her somewhat.

My favorites are Anna and Carson. Anna is my favorite lady pro. In my opinion, she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen! I love Chyna and hope she goes far. I actually really like Chaz and I didn't expect to at all! He can stay for awhile, too. I love Lacy, also. David and J.R. are two very sweet guys who are also good dancers. A good cast this season.

Ron Artest used to be a huge knucklehead.

He was suspended for the bulk of one season in the NBA for going into the stands during a fight. He was then traded to the El Lay Lakers and helped the team win two world championships.

He has mellowed out over the last few years- I thought by coming to play in El Lay he would be a huge problem with the team, but he proved many people wrong.

---------------------------

Nancy Grace could never impress me with anything she does.

She's a loudmouth and exploits crime victims for her own benefit and her ratings.

I laughed when they showed her husband and kids in the audience during the show. The little girl was picking her nose....really!

I was super happy that Ron Artest went home. He was my least favorite immediately.

I used to be a big fan of Cheryl's, but not anymore. She's actually one of my least favorites now. And, Lacey . . . she seems nice enough, but man . . . she just seems to get trashier and trashier every season, based on appearance anyway. I like her choreography well enough, but, overall, I find I like watching her less and less.

Derek is my favorite, hands down. And, I used to HATE Maks, and now he's one of my favorites. Same with Mark, I used to LOVE him, but really don't enjoy him much anymore. Funny how things change! Except Derek, he's always been a favorite!

I haven't watched the results or highlights, but I have to say I really like Tristan! He's precious! And I think he's doing wonders for Nancy Grace's confidence, although she could easily be the one to go home tonight. I would like to see her stay, though, and see Chaz go. I don't dislike Chaz, but I honestly don't know if he can truly handle it. Lacey already had to simplify the choreography so as not to cause further injury . . . and it's only week two!

Poor Nancy and the wardrobe malfunction. I guess you can just shove so much into those costumes - and she has an overabundance in that department. I'll bet she was mortified to the max. Awwww...:p The only reason I want to see her stay on, is because of the money she is donating.

I agree with you Ellie. Chaz looked like he was anxious to be booted. You can seriously tell his knees are killing him. It's hard enough to dance when you're thin but with extra weight....not comfortable :(

I missed Ricki Lake's performance. Was it that good? Nancy Grace looks like she's doing everything she possibly can to stay there. She's got more guts than I do.

I was pretty bummed with the results last night, although the contestant who left certainly wasn't my favorite. I'd have much preferred to see Chaz go, simply because I don't imagine he's going to be able to dance any better than what we've already seen.

I can't watch even five seconds of Nancy Grace on TV, when she's in her element, but she's been charming and very human on the competition.

Kari, I also feel the same way about Cheryl. I use to really like her but now I just feel "blah" about her. Can't really pinpoint the change. Pretty much the same thing with Mark also. Love Derek and Maks!

I wasn't disappointed with Elisabetta going home. I didn't really care for her. I did feel sorry for her partner Val though because I'm sure he would have like his first season on the show to last a lot longer and maybe even beat his brother.

Same here about Nancy Grace. And I really like the relationship between she and Tristan, he's just so gentle with her!

And, I don't know why I don't enjoy Cheryl anymore, either . . . I think she just used to be more smiley and perky, or something. Now she just seems so serious and bored . . . or something. ;)

However, I know exactly why I don't like Mark as much as I used to. ;) It's for crap like he pulled the other night when he knowingly broke the rules in their quickstep and defended it by saying "it fit the music". He's just mouthy and is always defending the choreography, and usually with a stank attitude. I think he should step out of his own genius and realize that it's not about his amazing edgy choreography (which I usually LOVE), it's about helping his partner learn to dance, earn points and get and keep fans.

For example, Karina is not my favorite female pro, but I LOVED the risk she took with the Jive/Lindy Hop (which I agreed was more Lindy). I personally think she took a calculated risk to help earn her partner fans, because their dance was spectacular. He is my favorite contestant, neck and neck with Ricki. But, my point is, she didn't b**ch to the judges about the comments regarding the choreography or the lift she did. She just sorta smiled and shrugged. I think her partner (for the life of me, I cannot remember his name) mentioned in some behind the scenes extras, that it was all jive, but I think it's ok when it's done in a fun, cheeky way, not a cranky aggravated way. ;)

Anyway . . . I'm gonna shut up now haha.

JR Martinez is Karina's partner. And I really like him. Even though I can't stand Karina! I am glad to see her with a good partner though. She seems to have always been stuck with the "not so good" partners besides Mario Lopez.
I was sad to see Peta and Val go so early. They are both first timers and didn't get a chance. But I'm not sad to see Elisabetta go. She was not good.
I wouldn't mind seeing Nancy or Chaz go next. However, I just love Lacey. And I am also starting to like Tristan as well.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Derek and Ricki's tango to the theme from Psycho. He is a brilliant choreographer, I cannot believe how amazing that dance was. Beautiful, creepy, tense, magical. Amazing. And I really enjoyed JR's dance to Pink Panther, I have no idea what Carrie Ann's issue was, I thought it was the perfect amount of humor.

Super sad that Chynna's tango went the way it did, I think it would have been amazing. I'd like to see her get the chance to do it again, if for nothing else but for us to see it and her to do it.

I liked Nancy's dance, I think she does great, considering her age, build, and experience performing and dancing. And her partner is super charming, and I really think he brings out the best in her.

Nancy Grace is a opportunistic jerk who uses her postion in the media to try cases that are either in the system or soon to be tried.

She's rude, judgemental and 'convicts' everyone before all the evidence is in on whatever case is on her program.

She's rude to the people on her show, if they do not agree with her, she shouts over them and cuts them off and laughs at whatever point they are trying to make.

She's also 'indicted' more than a few people on her show without all the facts.

There was a husband of a missing woman, who she claimed was a 'prime suspect' until the police turned up evidence that he had nothing to do with whatever crime had been committed.

She never apologized or made a statement saying that she was wrong and had accused this poor dude that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CASE.

-------------------

Look up Melinda Duckett and the lawsuit that her family filed against NG and CNN. Then look up the settlement she made.

She's really not a nice person.

I didn't watch the results, but I'm glad he apologized. I definitely think Bruno and Len (and every so often, Carrie Anne) can be totally out of line with their comments, though, and definitely deserved to be told off when they do, although I really didn't think Len was way out of line when Maks did go off on him the other night. Even Bruno's comment about Chaz looking like a penguin or something the other night for his tango was way worse than anything Len said. I mean, there's no critique in that, it has nothing to do with dance, it's just rude.

I saw the end of the results, and honestly would have rather seen Nancy or Hope go home. Hope just doesn't seem to be enjoying herself, and I honestly think she and Maks just don't make a good pair. Nancy's rehearsal package reminded me too much of her TV persona. I thought she was totally ridiculous during the package, although I enjoyed her dance.

Just to give my two cents (take it or leave it:p), but I can understand what Maks is saying. The judges critique the celebrities differently. The ones they "think" should be doing more technical things get knocked for it, when others who really have no chance of being technically good never get called on the technical aspect. They just say it was a lot of fun, or it was better than the dance before. I think Maks' point was for them to be fair equally toward all of the dancers. They sometimes are more picky with certain people. That's just my little old opinion. :)

Anyway, I really like Maks, but Hope is starting to bug me. The way she holds her mouth while dancing and she's not graceful enough. I think Rob Kardashian is doing a really good job! As sad as I am to see Lacey go, I'm kinda glad Chaz is gone. Now Nancy should be next...oh wait, or Hope. This is based on dancing only.

Maxs is too big for his britches. He is just too full of himself, just as Cheryl is now too. At least with Cheryl, she knows enough to keep her mouth shut - at least I've never seen any outburst from her in any show that I've watched. And Maxs obviously feels threatened by Derek. Slamming another dancer in any way, is totally uncalled for.

As for the judges - well - they're just judging! For me - half the fun of the show, is waiting to see what's going to come out of Len or Bruno's mouth next. Simon Cowell had it all over them. :p

Oh, I don't remember him saying anything about Derek. Now, don't get me wrong....I know Maks is arrogant FOR SURE!

And on Karina, I think she is more pleasant this season because her partner is doing well. She usually gets "stuck" with such horrible partners and then she is a sore loser. When the judges would make bad comments you could just see her anger on her face. But this season she is on top so she's happy! And actually Maks is the same way (no wonder they couldn't stay together, they're too much alike...they were engaged for a while..Maks and Karina).

From the Orlando Sentinel -

He (Maks) took a swipe at Derek Hough, who has supported the judges. “Derek Hough has been very supportive of his personal career on the show,” Maks said. “If I had Nicole Scherzinger, followed by Jennifer Grey, followed by Ricki Lake, I would probably not be very upset with the judges.”

I liked Cheryl up until the past few seasons. She had that pixie-ish personality that I thought was rather cute and charming. Yeah, no disputing that she's a great dancer, but she has just become too "Hollywood" now to suit me, and it's gone to her head.

I know I sound like a broken record, but Derek Hough is incredible. His choreography is so far above and beyond everyone else's. I really wish Ricki wouldn't pucker her mouth like she does, but other than that . . . she is fantastic to watch. I wasn't overly excited with any of the other dances, except for the Team Paso routine. THAT was awesome.

Gotta say this . . . Maks and Hope are quite possibly one of the worst pairings I've ever seen on the show. I just feel bad for her. She is not my favorite, anyway, but she just looks miserable with Maks.

Hope and Maks seriously seem to bring out the worst in each other. Did you watch the rehearsal package for their group routine? Maks walked out in frustration and Derek immediately went to Hope's side to help her. He's just a class act, all around. I know he has his breaking point, and I've seen him get testy just like everyone else, but overall, he truly seems to just want to help people be their best.

J.R. Martinez Named Rose Parade Grand Marshal

Pasadena - The grand marshal for Pasadena's 123rd Tournament of Roses is a certain crowd pleaser.

Leading the Jan. 2 procession of floats will be J.R. Martinez, the "Dancing With the Stars" contestant, "All My Children" daytime soap opera star and Iraq War veteran seriously burned when his Humvee hit a land mine.

He will also toss the coin before kickoff of the 98th Rose Bowl Game in honor of all wounded military personnel.

The Tournament of Roses Association announcement Tuesday says Martinez is a perfect fit for the "Just Imagine ..." parade theme.

Martinez says he's grateful for the opportunity to share his message of hope and possibility.

Tournament President Rick Jackson says Martinez is an inspiration because of his courage and dedication to helping all Americans facing challenges.

OMG...don't they, though?? Their relationship seems so volatile(?not sure if that is the right word). I actually thought Maks was a tad bit abusive in that last package. Definitley not a good pairing. I'm not sure but I think I had read somewhere that he actually pushed for her to be his partner. Not sure about that. LOVED the way Derek stepped in there. I do sometimes wonder how much the editing plays in all of this though. I mean, every show wants to have a bad guy. I've never disliked Maks. Always enjoyed watching him dance and he sure as heck isn't hard to look at and I've even giggled at his cocky attitude, but this year his arrogance is a little over the top for me.

Very cool! I love JR. His spirit and personality are amazing. To me he is like a bright shiny star and anyone around him his going to glow. I mean look at Karina. I've always thought she was a beautiful dancer, but her personality seemed a little hard to me. This year with JR she seems a little softer and more fun.

I just Goggled it. Awwww. Such a shame to have David A. leave. I rather liked him. He improved much over the past weeks. Oh well.

Like I said before....Karina is "softer" because her partner is doing GOOD!!

Anyway, here is how I felt the top 6 should have been ranked:

1. JR and Karina
2. Ricki and Derek (although JR and Ricki are very close to me)
3. David and Kym
4. Nancy and Tristan
5. Hope and Maks

Hope can NOT dance!!! Nancy even dances way better than she does. This year has just been full of surprises though so who knows. I also do not vote, but I can voice my opinion on who I like, can't I? :p

I like Maks, but I also felt he was a bit rough with Hope during the group rehersal. Maks had to go pout like a baby. Waah!

Did you hear what David said about it being his show? LOL He cracks me up!!!

Oh, and I am not at all a Beiber fan so I skipped through his first performance. I did watch the second though because I am old school and like Boyz to Men. But Justin just seemed so arrogant to me. Like he's thinking "yeah, I'm great and I know it!" Did not like the attitude.

I think Karina is softer because her partner is an absolute angel. I think she's happier because her partner is great, but that softness and femininity . . . I don't think it has much to do with J.R.'s skills.

I was super bummed about David going home last night, although his farewell speech was perfect. I think Nancy was amazed she wasn't the one to leave.

I personally think Hope should have gone home. I think she's probably getting votes at this point because people feel bad for her. It can't be because she's a good dancer, and even if she has an amazing personality, it doesn't shine through on this show at all. She just looks beat down and stuck in a bad relationship. I can hardly stand to watch her and Maks interacting, and he seriously looks like he's going to pull her arms out when they're dancing, it's like he doesn't give a crap how she looks on the dance floor. Ugh, makes me mad and sad all at the same time.

I have disliked Maks in the past, very much so. It's just been in the last couple seasons that he grew on me, but he definitely is too much for me this season.

I skipped Bieber too, he's not that talented. I for one was glad to see David go, he was not a great dancer and besides I couldn't take his personality. I really think there is something wrong with him, it could be all the booze he has drank. I just think he is a little weird and I just couldn't take him anymore, same for Chaz. J.R. and Ricki both were awesome tonight! I was so glad to see that Hope and Maks smoothed things out, and it really showed in their routines. I really liked Rob's first dance, too, I think he has really come a long way! As for Nancy . . . I think Len's comment was completely out of line (that's the kind of "judging" that I think has nothing to do with critiquing and has no place on the show). However, I do think she should be the one to leave tomorrow.

Yes - it was time for Nancy to go. I have to give her credit tho - she was pretty gutsy for taking on the challenge and for lasting as long as she did - and her winning money is going to a good cause. Makes me think that there really is some good and a soft spot somewhere in there afterall. :p

So it's J.R. or Ricki that will win - IMO - just don't know which. It's gonna be darn close tho. I have a gut feeling that it will be J.R, - unless he really screws up - and that doesn't seem too likely.

What I really liked about Nancy is after the judges gave their opinions, she took it like a trooper. Never answered them back in any way, just took it with a smile and I give her credit for that since she is well known as always getting the last word:) It's wonderful that her winnings are going to abused children. She was back at her job already last night and she thanked everyone for voting for her.

I think he is wonderful and can't wait to see him paired with more celebrities! Nancy was super in saying so much about Tristan, he seemed genuinely appreciative and a bit surprised. I liked the two of them from the beginning, although I still wouldn't consider myself a Nancy Grace fan. ;)

And, that Michael Jackson inspired dance routine was amazing! I love Cirque Du Soleil and Michael Jackson, and would love to see that show live! Awesome dance!

Finally got to watch the finale. Very emotional! I was so happy to see Chynna nail that routine like I knew she could. I wasn't sad to see her leave, but she definitely deserved to stay longer than she did. I wasn't impressed with Mark and Kristen's routine, but Carson's and David's were both a lot of fun. Carson seriously looked like he was living a fantasy, it was awesome haha.

Seemed like the only person NOT surprised to see Ricki leave in third place . . . was Ricki. I watched several times, and the other pros and contestants looked shocked. I really think Rob and Cheryl thought they were coming in third. But, as much as I feel like Ricki deserved second, she was the only one out of the top three to really do much whining. Deservedly so, I think, because the contest is grueling, but I just don't remember J.R. or Rob ever really talking about giving up or anything. I think that makes a difference to voters. Rob barely stopped smiling throughout the entire show.

And then there was J.R. Brilliant! He totally deserved the mirror ball, and he really seemed like he was trying super hard, and almost more for Karina than for himself. What a guy. I was actually happy for Karina, I loved that she didn't hold back when they won. It was charming.
