We missed the 7th anniversary of Thursdays!!! It was #364!!!!

I think we can combine a late celebration wit this weeks theme!

Hurricane, New Orleans Style

1 oz white rum
1 oz Jamaican dark rum
1 oz Bacardi® 151 rum
3 oz orange juice
3 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 oz grenadine syrup
crushed ice


Combine all ingredients, mix well (shake or stir). Pour over crushed ice in hurricane glass. Best enjoyed through a small straw. Garnish with fruit wedge if desired.


We also can do some Jambalaya, dirty rice and ????

Dirty rice sounds good to me. I've never had it or knew what made it "dirty".

I just boiled up a container of chicken livers to add to the pup's dinner. Now I guess I can call the mixture "dirty dog food".

I love the liver but I'll pass on the gizzards. Saute livers with onions and green peppers - deelish!!!

Oh a Mardi Gras. I've always wanted to attend one. I'll have to go and make up a costume but from what I hear maybe I should wear nothing at all????? :eek::eek::D

INDEED! :D Ill take some of that Dirty Rice! My dad learned how to cook some of that good ol southern fare and we enjoyed it a LOT on cold days! He made this sausage dish every winter with about 20 different hot sauces...if that didn't clear out your sinues I don't know what would!

Ill take whatevers on tap :D Make sure the kitties are included too!

with the frigid weather we've been having there is alot more that "boobies" getting blue!!! :o I just love liver and grits and mudpuppies (crawfish? crayfish?) I can suck the insides out of the heads like a true cajun but I'll leave the gizzard to the rest. I will, however, boil them in my turkey juz to add the stock. Sorry Phred, but I also use the dreaded KLAMJUZ in certain fixin's too ;)
