I must be crazy. I'm drawing a person again.

Forcing myself to step outside my comfort zone due to the fact that next year I will be in an art class being told what to draw, I decided to try John Lennon again cause I love him.

It turned out better then I was expecting.

My first attempt was something like this (he was part of all four Beatles I drew for my daddy)

And the series of events leading up to what I currently have as the second attempt:

Obviously he doesn't really have a head yet...I dunno whether I'm gonna put one in or not. Detail is my worst enemy (I have this tendency to use really dull pencils and just use a little scribble and pretend it's a detail hah) so I tried to work a little on getting some of the small details in and around the eyes. Didn't come out to well in pictures. Please critique though! You can find the picture that I drew him of very easily if you google John Lennon, hah.

I want to put something else above him (he only takes up about a third of the paper) and possible frame this in my room, but I don't know what...help?

This shows how much white space I have:

You are showing a lot of improvement! Good job, though like I often did until I forced myself not to - ya started too far down on the page! ;)

That's awesome! Keep it up. :) I haven't really gotten around to draw people yet - still staying in my comfort zone which is mostly animals/cartooning.

WOW, that looks so much better then any person I could draw. Very good. :)

well it was originally for a plan and then that plan failed so John was just kind of creeping at the bottom but then I got this idea and now it has a reason!!! John doesn't have a top to his head anymore and all sorts of pictures and words representing his entire life are floating out the top! so it sort of makes sense that he's at the bottom! and now i'm just pretending it was on purpose XD

thanks everyone :)

countrywolf - I'm only breaking out of my box because I was dumb and put myself into an art class (drawing and painting) for next year and I know they're gonna make me do crazy things (they have a whole unit drawing skeletons to get the anatomy of people right! EEK!) so I better wean myself off my safety drawings now haha.
