Would the snow please stop already?!?!!?!?!!?:D:)
I think we have gotten at least 12 inches since 6am this am. I wanted some snow to have something pretty to look at, but not this much to keep me cooped up in the house.....It's so powdery, its neat. Here are a few pics I took of my balcony this morning, it's much deeper now. Anyone else affected by this storm?

Don't feel too bad - we have it here in DE too. It didn't start here till around noon, and we have about 4" right now and it's supposed to snow all night. And this is the storm that the forecasters said we wouldn't get because it was staying to the south of us. Don't even need a snow shovel - I just took the broom and swept off the back porch a couple of times. It's just like powder.
My poor brother - I swear he's jinxed. He lives in NC and was "supposed" to be driving to FL today to take care of some business next week. He ain't goin nowhere/nohow for at least today anyway, and probably not tomorrow either. The same thing happened to him the week before Christmas - the day before he was supposed to drive down, they had a fairly good snow and he had to postpone it for a day. :p

Where at in Virginia are you? My son lives in the Norfolk area... LOL! THAT'S why my grand daughter asked me last night if we had snow (she lives there close to her Dad)... I was born and raised in Lynchburg.

We had about 5 inches of snow here in about 6 or 7 hours, then it started to sleet. It did that for about 3 hours. Then it turned to freezing rain. It is all crusty ice that looks like snow now. It was snowing today again. Tonight it is going to get down into the single digits. It won't be melting anytime soon.

Ice on some berry type things.

Ice on blades of grass.

Aroara thought she wanted to go outside.

Then she changed her mind and wanted to go back inside. Notice how she doesn't even make prints in the snow because it is hard due to the ice.

It's much better to be inside and warm.

The cardinals are always so pretty in the snow.

Be careful if you have to go out Moe!. I'd rather drive in a foot of snow than just a glaze of ice.
It's still snowing here.
I love that last pic with the cardinal. We have a lot of cardinals here and they are my favorites. They look beautiful against a new fallen snow.
I don't think I've ever seen a pic of Aroara - she's so pretty! :)

I love the picture of the cardinal in the ice. I hadn't seen Aroara either - is she related to Pinot?;)

Amazing as it is, we only have flurries. Our cold is back, today was -25 but at least no storm to go along with that cold. I hope our luck holds out, I can do without the storms this winter.

Moesha, those pictures are awesome!!

Goodness, how do you ever get warm with that kind of cold weather. I'd be in bed with all my babies under a pile of covers. Brrrrrr!

We have around six inches here in in East TN, hehe. Lily wasn't even making an imprint in the snow but she was sliding around on it because it was mainly ice :p. And Roxy had to poop on top of the snow, LOL

Yeah, it must be terrible to go through all of that.
Just today, after I had a bit of a surf, and lay down on my beachtowel to sunbake a bit, I thought of all of you in the USA, and in honour of you all, I treated myself to a snowcone....raspberry flavoured it was. And that snowcone was so cold....I could just imagine what you are all going through.
I guess after today, I can really relate to your situation over there.

Wom- You are funny! My neighbor and friend is also an Aussie. Love her, she is a mess!!!

Marigold-
I usually don't mind driving in it either, but the way they scrape the parking lots, they mound a bunch of snow in front of our cars so I first have to dig out. I wish I still had 4 wheel drive.

I always find it amazing that such tiny teeny flakes of snow beautiful and unique can accomulate so quickly and wreck havic so completly.
I am sending you warm thoughts and good wishes for a safe drive.

The sun is shining today. Ice is melting even though it isn't as warm as it was yesterday. Here are a few pictures today. I can't get the camera to capture the sparkle of the ice in the sun though.

The same berries with the sun and blue sky.

I think this is my favorite one. It is of the farm fence across the street.

Also, Pomtzu, here's proof that I haven't gone anywhere. I did clean the car off after taking this photo though.

We keep missing the storms; they go to the south or east of us; or to the west and give us torrential rains.

We got over a foot here in MD, which is unusual for us on the shore. I had to work Sat. and it started snowing like mad; we tried to get management to close us, but it took almost 2 hours for them to make up their minds.

What worried me the most was that I drive a Mustang and they are notoriously bad in the snow; mine was no exception! Took me almost an hour to get home (about 12 miles) and my pony slid a lot.

Now we hear we'll be getting MORE this weekend???:( Please NO!

That's the great thing about living here. The snow is almost gone now. There are a few slushy spots on the roads and lots of mud from the melting, but things are back to normal for the most part. Here for a day or two and then back to regular life.

I wish it were back to normal here. Plenty of places including the main road in my condo complex is not plowed . I think it's sleeting now and they are expecting another big storm with high accumulations this weekend. We haven't seen this much snow in Richmond in a long long time. What gives

And my 10k Training is outside, and I don't have a treadmill here. No gym membership either. There goes the training right down the toilet.

Winter sure can bite, can't it!!!!! I cannot wait for spring/summer!!
