View Full Version : Me, as a illustrator for children's books?

I like the sound of that! Yesterday, I was emailed by the creative director of the children's books here in Cleveland to assign me a drawing to do and I will be starting that today and then I wait for their review and if upon selection for the book, then I would be paid a flat fee, then after that, I would receive more work and be paid $25/hr. So hopefully this one will WORK out. It is part time, but I would be getting paid more than what I currently do as a art instructor for little kids. (I barely get paid, and I only teach one or two hours a week, and my boss won't really give me a full class load and I have been thinking about quitting..)

Fingers crossed!

What a wonderful venture for you!! :):):)

I volunteer in the library of a local elementary school. The books we have are so much better than the same ones when I was a kid - and the reason is the illustrations. I find it difficult to put books back on the shelves sometimes - because I want to sit and look at the pictures.

Congratulations - I'm looking forward to the day when I can say - I knew her when . . . .

Thank you! :) I'm very excited, hopefully this will work out, and I honestly can see myself in that career path as a artist for children books..

Here are some of my cartoonings, a lot of people that has seen them have said they have "personality" and not a lot of artists can capture that in the cartoons.

And my personal favorite: My boyfriend's two year old nephew admiring his birthday gift of my drawing of "Finding Nemo" cast... he absolutely LOVES it.
