Mainly to test my 70-300mm lens, I tried to take pics of some birdies here in this area. Now that it's winter, many of them gather around the feeding stations people set up in their gardens, but it's been hard to take the pics because most birds flew away when I was approacing. They were way too quick for me! LOL

But I was able to take a few pics, though...

I really wonder how these little birds are coping with the cold! I heard that in England, birds are freezing to death?! :(

Oh Kirsten- this is so beautiful! Of course I would want names of all the guys. I am bad in indentifying them. I can see the blackbirds (Amsel) and the Blaumeise (with the little blue hat ;)) and the Grünfink and the Dompfaff- but all the others I don't know.
And of course I don't know them in English.
You can count every feather.
Lovely, lovely pictures:)

Very cool! :)

I own a Nikon D60, and I actually just bought the 17-80mm from someone off Craigslist for a very good price, and I am in love with it. It is a very good lens. I've been thinking about buying a Sigma 70-300mm since it will auto focus with my D60. It is only $159 and I am thinking I should go for it. Just not sure yet.

I love the birds, can't imagine having birds in winter. Ours leave by October and don't come back before May.
Your pictures are lovely as usual, do you mind my asking if you are a professional photographer or do you just do it as a hobby?

Did the bird in the 7th picture have webbed feet?? Or did it just look that way to me?

Glad you like them! I wish I could name them all!

I guess the first one is some kind of finch.

The second one is called blue tit, according to my dictionary.

#3 is a male blackbird, #4 ad # 5 a female one.

#6: blue tit

#7: female blackbird

#8: greenfinch

#9: male blackbird

Second post:

#1: some kind of finch, I guess

#2: female blackbird

#3: male blackbird

Hope it's correct! :D
