I got a pop-up on my "new" laptop this morning and it was from a program called Relevant.knowledge, I googled it and found that it is a somewhat harmless spyware program. I have no clue how it got on my PC but I don't want this PC crashing, especially since I fixed myself. It was my sister's old laptop. It took me 16 hours total to fix the entire computer and to get it up and running and I was proud of this accomplishment lol, not that it's totally impressive but I was proud anyway. So anyway, I downloaded SPYHUNTER 3 and it detected 764 spyware parasites, great. So I clicked remove and it's giving me all this BS that I need to register & billing or something when it said the software was free. I read up on this software and apparently it's a bad program and I guess, I'll remove it after.

Finally, I get to the question: What is a good FREE Spyware removal program? One that you used or have heard good things about.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance! :)

What is your anti-virus program? Does it update itself? Does it have a spyware component? Most programs do.

Here's a few good spyware ones that are popular.

Stay to the left on the page here, and make sure you download only the FREE one, NOT the "free trial".

This is AVG 9.0. It does viruses and spyware.

I have McAfee SecurityCenter, I wasn't sure if it would do the job alone. I want double protection for this computer LOL until I get a new one next year for college. It's updated to it's latest version. It's the AOL special edition, I don't know if that its relavant or not. Thanks for the help & suggestions guys! I appreciate it. If McAfee doesn't find anything I will certainly look into the programs posted :D THanks again guys :)

I would uninstall McAfee and install either AVG or Avast for antivirus. Get Spybot Search and Destroy, its free and easy to use.
