Does anyone remember the Chessie Cat, the mascot of the C&O railroad?

I thought this picture of Archy kind of looks like her.

ETA...YAY, I figured out how to post pictures!!!!

What a shame that railroads are no longer as popular as they once were as Archy would make the Purrfect Spokes Cat!!!:love::love:
Maybe Archy could advertise pillows, I bet he would be selling them like hot cakes!!!:love::love:
Oops I am old , make that cell phones as few people make hot cakes anymore.:cool::cool:

I sure do remember Chessie! I rescued a black cat that I named Chessie. He would come to me when called and jump up on my shoulder. I had him vetted and neutered and gave him to my cat sitter w/whom I just had dinner this evening. She fills me in on him every time we get together.

This cat is a beauty, too. :)

At my first job we'd play sheepshead every lunch, and one of the decks of cards had the Chessie cat on it. Archie is in the exact same position!

What a cutie. My wife and I are both fans of the C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio) We both collect model trains I "N" gauge and my wife "Z" gauge. The C&O started with Chessie a gray tabby "the sleeping cat", later they introduced Peak a orange tabby as a partner to Chessie. Yes they did have kittens. The anniversary presents for my wife, this year, included an original set of C&O playing cards a reproduction set that we can use.

That’s why we have Chessie (gray tabby-coon) and Peak (orange tabby)

Gill, my husband is into trains, too. He's been setting up his N gauge and making a new layout for the Z gauge (the house is full of train stuff!). He's been building little houses for his setup and it looks really nice.

I have a Chessie latchhook that I did years ago. It's hard to find old Chessie things now..............

orangemm being in MD I know that you've been to the C&O museum in Baltimore. Great trains and a nice HO layout. When ever we do a cat transport to Baltimore we stop in. I haven't put my trains on my site yet, except for the T gauge. My kids love to watch them run and they are very good about not playing with them. The slot cars are another story they like to smack them off the track. www.jsgill.net take a look and there are more pictures of my CREW there.
