I just went in to find one of the videos I made in photobucket, and got this!

The Remix feature on Photobucket was discontinued on September 23rd, 2009. As of that date, the create and edit functionality was removed from all Remixes. Existing Remixes are viewable on Photobucket and off-site for ninety days. After December 22rd, 2009 existing Remixes will no longer be viewable anywhere, and all Remixes will be removed from Photobucket.
It is not possible to save or download your Remixes from Photobucket. Thank you for using Remix. Try Photobucket’s easy slideshow feature as an alternative.

I am NOT pleased, I just love my one video with "I'm Livin' it UP!" for a sound track. WHY can't I copy it somewhere? GRRRRRR

off to give it a try Blue, lets hope it works!

It did download it but now I have to download a program to play it... That's better than loosing it though. Thanks Blue!

There are many free converters out there to download, that is in flv format so look for flv converters.

The link works for flv files. Use VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) to play them.

It doesnt work for the Remix pbr files Freedom was hoping to save. Maybe Collin will see this thread and pull a trick out of his.....

So I found this info, but no solution as yet:

http://www.liutilities.com/products/winbackup/filextlibrary/files/PBR/

http://filext.com/file-extension/PBR

http://powerbuilder1.software.informer.com/download-powerbuilder-pbr-files/

I don't understand much of the technical side of computing, and can't foolow much in those links above.

I have alerted Catmandu and told him to save them so someone can convert them for him so post your solutions if/when you find them and hopefully somebody can get them to work again for him, if even if only from a CD. I have to go back to work next week so I hope somebody will help him. I will not have time before I am due to leave.

*This* is why I never use hosts like this.

If you can find a flash video downloader, you can, more than likely, download your videos.

But, who the heck discontinues a service with no option to download the objects created with the service?

P.S. If you need a converter, I used to use this site a *lot* for converting flv videos: http://www.zamzar.com/

Please note: it is not ALL videos you will lose. It is only those you created using REMIX.

And they are not the flv ones. They are the PBR extension.

I wrote to Photobucket, complained, asked if there is ANYTHING we can do. Here is the reply:

We would love to leave them up for you to use but this decision came from
Adobe the creator of the Remix. They are doing away with this. We are
incredibly sorry and at this time you can use our slideshow feature to
somewhat recreate the Remix you have created. We are sorry for the frustration
this has caused but we have no control in this decision.

Sincerely,

Your Photobucket Support Team

I had a thought over the weekend. I wanted to test it first, but haven't had the time, so passing this along anyway.

Remember, it is ONLY videos on photobucket which you created with REMIX which are at risk.

I was thinking if we set things up, use our camera with the video setting, and RECORD THE ViDEO RUNNING ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN, we get a complete video, sound and all. Then we just upload THAT video to photobucket, it is no longer using the REMIX feature so it is fine.

It will take some testing with distance. And be careful not to breath too loudly, the camera will pick THAT up! (Yeah, I've done that!)

Charge up your batteries before you start, as it could be a few tries before you get it right, and you don't want to be almost there and have to stop for 12 hours while waiting for the batteries to recharge.

I really hope this works -- for ALL of us!
