Who knew my family would ever have to have bottled water for lunches and breaks - when it is free from the tap? In any event, when the water is emptied (and bottle rinsed if there is any sugar in it), we then screw the cap back on tightly and give to Bob. He will chew and naw at the bottle for almost a half of an hour. He will stay with at it until he gets the top off and then sometimes for for even 15 minutes or more.

I used to do the same for Zoee. But she'd chew so much she'd end up bleeding. I'd take the cap off though because that was the first thing she destroyed. We had to stop giving them to her because I didn't want her hurting herself.
There is a toy that you can put an empty water bottle in. It looks like those sock monkeys that are made out of grandpas socks.
Here's the link. (http://www.petco.com/product/108643/Booda-Crinkle-Critters-Sock-Monkey-Dog-Toys.aspx?cm_mmc=CSEMGooglebase-_-Dog-_-Booda-_-1202898&mr:trackingCode=C7F3EB15-8381-DE11-B7F3-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA)

Unfortunately, Bob would destroy that monkey in like 10 seconds. He does like those bottles though - and yes, he always went for the cap first. seemed like a challenge for him to get the cap off!

My friend, Rich, had a boxer (RB) named Bogart. Bogart would play for hours with the plastic gallon milk container. It was so noisy on hardwood floors! But, what a great 'free' toy for Bogart. I loved that doggie. :(

Casey used to love them too. She would steal the bottles from the recycling and I would catch her carrying it around. LOL

Miss that old girl.

Putting water in the bottle and freezing it makes a fun toy while at the same time soothes aching gums in teething puppies.
