I am going to apply for a PhD program in Curriculum & Instruction. I have everything ready except my statement of goals. I'm drawing a blank! I mean, I know I need to explain why I want to pursue a PhD in education and all that, but how do I convince the admissions committee that I am the best student to do so?

I don't know how much emphasis this school places on the essay, but I'm hoping it will make up for my mediocre GRE scores (I took it 4 years ago and just can't deal with taking it again). :p

What kind of things should I include? Any other advice?

Thanks! :)

Oh, gosh, no ideas - I have never had to such such a thing, but of course they should accept you! You are a Pet Talker, what better PhD candidate could they want?

Oh ... PhD doesn't stand for Pet hairy Dog? Oh ...

How long does it have to be? A statement or an essay?

I already have my PhD in Pet Hairy Dog, as well as my PHC (Pet Hairy Cat). :p At least I should, I spent the last hour or so vacuuming! :D

The essay has to be 2-3 pages. It doesn't specify what kind of information to include, either.

because students need the best possible education in order to get by in a global marketplace and with that degree you can help them get it ... because you want to be able to evaluate and implement the most effective curriculums and instructional methods available to students ... would you also be designing curriculums and instructional methods with a Ph.D.?

(let me go dig out my essay from when I was applying to the MSN program and see if there is anything in it that might be helpful)
