Posing in Ohio a few days ago for our newest family portrait:
Tori, Jack, Pat, & JoJoe

Does she look a little familiar? She should - she's Sherman's sister!

Jack thinks she's the perfect pup playmate for a motel sleep-over.

...and he's busy showing her all around the yard and neighborhood.

I think maybe Dad's got himself a new girl!

We are once again a happy two-sibe pack!
I think Star & Sherman are wagging their tails in approval, don't you?

She's a beauty, and certainly looks like her brother Sherman! We see the family resemblance. Does she share his love of peanut-butter dog biscuits?

Welcome, Tori!

Hu-Mom, are Tori and Jack close in age?

I can't find Jack's DOB;
But if Tori is a "Littermate" of Sherman; they were born on December 12, 2002,
in Arcadia, Ohio (near Findlay, Ohio).
That makes Tori 7 years old.

I'm thinkin Jack-a-Rooo is a couple years younger than that.

Jack is 4 1/2, Tori is 6, she'll be 7 on Dec 12 (right you are, Phred!) She's 27 months older than Jack. (March 31 2005). They were both born in Lancaster OH, but the kennel is in Somerset now.

Yup, Tori has a tale to tell. We met her in June of 2004 when we brought Star to Destiny Siberians in southern OH to meet with Sherman. Tori sat in her kennel, going on & on, talking & singing. Not long after we adopted Sherman, she went to a home in central Ohio. That lasted one or two days, till the woman left her unattended in the yard. Tori promptly jumped the fence and ran off into the woods. She was gone for over a week, in spite of the many people searching for her. When she finally found her way back to the house, Sue & Mike took her back to Destiny with them, and she's lived there with her mom & dad & pack mates ever since. I saw her again when I returned to adopt Jack. Sue & Mike weren't looking to place her, but with Star's passing, we have a big empty spot in our lives. Sue & Mike know tht we will give her a loving and safe home, and their lives have become quite busy as they adopted an adorable baby girl from Taiwan a couple months ago. (and have 8 Sibes, 3 horses, & jobs) They felt that Tori would get a lot more one-on-one attention if she's with us. And they are correct - we look forward to spoiling her, as every good house dog deserves! :)
So that's Tori's story & she's sticking to it!

Uhhhht - Ohhhhhhh ... A Fence-Jumper =

What's her "record" jump height?

Hope this isn't like NASCAR - where the Safety Fence is never high enough
nor strong enough.
Keep a sharp eye on your SisFur, Jack-a-Rooo! ;)

Elyse, hugs have been delivered!

Phred - not to worry, we have 6' husky fencing here, plus, she's older & wiser and lets face it - this is a husky's paradise here! I don't have to call her name twice before she speeds back inside thru the door! FYI - the 6' fencing is just as much to keep other bipeds out as to keep canines in. ;) Also, there's a padlocked double-gated entry.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. :)

When Star was called Up, North of the Bridge, on Sppecial Assignment to God,
Jack-a-Roo took a road trip wiffa Bi-Ped Folks over to the ole stompin Farm
in OhHiHo ... did an interview wiffa Nice Gurl (who they hired onna spot) -
jumped back inna Husky Bus an motored back to the Island wiff Tori.

Things have been GREAT wiff Jack an Tori - he's taken her to da Ocean,
da Sights, da Parks, da Neighbours, shared his mini-Bi-Ped Friends ...
they've become Good Buddies! All has been well ...

http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif Till Tuesday nite! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif
Tori suddenly showed extreme pain - and was rushed to the ER.

By 3:30 AM Wednesday morning she was in Sir Jury for a serious bowel obstruction
AND a twisted artery. Bad pieces were removed, holes patched,
artery straightened, Zippur installed ... and the Healing has begun.

Need we suggest ...

Pet Talk Prayers are requested ... this is a *serious* situation that will
require a *serious* PT Prayer commitment from ALL the PT Critters
and their Hooomins. ~~~ *!, 2, 3 ... Let's all PRAY!*

Jack-a-Rooo & his Bi-Peds say THANKS!!

Late Thursday Night ...

Miz Tori hadda Byte to Eat at the Hospital and announced
"I Wanna go HOME!"

Since keeping solid food down and going*poddy* were "requirements"
for discharge, she got her marching orders and called for the Fambily Bus
to come pick her up!

SO ... Miz Tori is now HOME for final recovery!
THANKS GOD!!
And THANKS to all the Pet Talkers who sent Prayers and Well-Wishes!!

Just talked to Pat - she and JoJoe are Greatly Thankful for all the support
they are receiving ... and SOOOO THANKFUL that Tori seems On the Road
to recovery. Tori has a way to go till till everything heals up - but ALL SIGNS
are good and her ER Doc is very pleased with her condition.

Please keeep the PT Prayers flowing for Tori - we still have a way to go.

THANKS AGAIN, God!! ;)

Wow! I guess all my PT buddies have been keeping tabs on the whole situation!
:) Thanks to Phred and everyone. I think the prayers & positive thoughts really help, cause its surely a miracle Tori is still with us!

I know my PT friends will understand that Tori has special significance to us. Its weighed heavily on my mind & heart all thru this ordeal that we so want her to survive this, to have the chance to live a nice long life (God willing), a chance that her brother Sherman didn't get. I guess God needed him more than we did. I have a feeling he, Star & Rosie are hanging around very close right now.

Thanks for your support!

She is beautiful! That is so great you got a dog that ties you to Sherman. When I lost Gracie I knew there was no way I could ever have a tie to her unless her sister was bred. She only had one other litter mate. Gracie's sister will be bred this time next year, but I don't know if I'd be in a spot for another dog. I hope I am! I would love to have a blood tie to my RB Gracie. The 4th of this month was 1 year since I had lost her. I still cry every time I think about her.

Congrats on this beautiful girl! May she bring you many many years of joy and knowing the breed...lots of laughter!:D

I copied this update from Cyber-Sibes' Web site, http://sscyber-sibes.blogspot.com

Woo-woo, its me, Tori!

I want to thank you all fur the pawrayers & pawsitive thoughts woo've sent me. It means a lot! I feel better with each day that goes by. I'm still pretty sleepy, not furry hungry, and not moving too fast, but when Mom asked me to smile for efurryone, I could do that! I saw my vet on Saturday and he says everything looks good so far.

Jack has been a good big brofur, but he's kind of bummed he doesn't get home-cooked meals like I get. (Don't worry, mom lets him have what I don't finish.)

woos & kisses,
Tori

Here is a Tori update from 11/29-- more at http://sscyber-sibes.blogspot.com:

Woos & a-roos to yous!
Did woo have a good Thanksgiving day, (those of us in the USA)?
We had khompnay! Moms boyz drove out from Ohio! (Never under-estimate the power of Mom's home cooking). They left this morning, now we have time to catch up on the blogs.

We got yummy turkey, crunchy carrots, but no pie, although mom mixed some cannned pumpkin into our food.
Mom was furry happy to have all her kids together - peeps & fluffs! She'll post more pics this week.

So, that's basically what we've been up to - hope woo are making good memories too. Have a furry nice Sunday, effurryone!

a-roos & woos,
jack n' tori

PS - Tori's getting a little better each day, we're keeping up our pawrayers she continues to improve!
