Hi fellow kitties!

I know this is short notice but the World Series starts this coming Wednesday. The eco friendly hybrid Catmobile is ready and will be at my house sometime tomorrow. We still don't know who will face off against the Philadelphia Phillies but I think it will be the New York Yankees.

Our friend and ace copilot Pinot has been burning the midnight oil going over maps and routes to all possible venues. If you're coming we need to know right away so everyone has a ride. A few minor details are being worked out. I'm not sure of what they are but I'm told there will be a few surprises.

Get your baseball gloves warmed up, be sure your baseball caps are in easy reach, and your team jerseys fit comfortably. Fried chicken and crab legs are already ordered.

Pinot, will we be leaving Monday or Tuesday? The security team from the local no-kill shelter will be giving us an escort so we don't miss the first pitch and we need to let them know.

Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd.....

Your friend,
Groucho

Well unless Our California Angels pull two games out of the hat, it looks like New York or Philadelphia for the World Series.:cool:
A Bit cold and wet so Our Awesome Angel Army will bring tents, heated pads and comforters.:)
And they have been to the City of Brotherly Love and the Big Apple so they know of the best places for Cheese Steaks and of course Nathans Hot Dogs!!!
:)
Our Cats are not partisan at all as long as the Concession Stands are full of Great Ball Park Food!!!
Play Ball!!!

Hey Groucho,

MooShoo here. My bags are packed and the keg is chilling. I'll be in front of my house waiting for da bus!!!

Pinot is so excited!! She's in her office right now, I don't know the specifics, but she's been SO wrapped up!! Groucho, she tells me to plan on leaving very early Tuesday morning - then she went back to planning. It's so tough not knowing the outcome, but I'm sure she's so prepared it doesn't matter!

Kitties, it's time to PLAY BALL!! :D

Pinot asked if Winnie will be able to come?

momcat
10-25-2009, 12:33 PM
Okay, Tuesday morning it is. As always everyone is invited to come and join in the fun. Since we'll be leaving very early on Tuesday morning, any of you wanting to come on Monday can stay at my place overnight. The Amtrak train stops right here in Trenton, if you'll be coming in by train let me know and the Catmobile will pick you up at the station.

MooShoo, will Buddy be coming too? Thanks so much for getting the keg, they're a lot more paw friendly.

One of the purralegals at Cat Court has connections with one of the major airlines. Since time is so short arrangements can be made for a special flight to the Philadelphia Airport. If you're interested we need to know right away. Don't worry about tickets, that will be taken care of.

If any of you have an extra baseball glove, please bring them to share with our fellow kitties who don't have one?

Pinot, I'll call you on your cell phone tonight.

Your friend,
Groucho

Cassie would like to know if we can visit the Liberty Bell while we are in Philadelphia. If the Yankees win, Cassie wants to see the Statue of Liberty if her fellow kitties agree; and if California wins, she would like to see the Pacific Ocean.

Okay fellow kitties, we're going to see a Yankees - Phillies World Series! Tonight was really a good game, I watched the whole thing with Meowmie.

That's a great idea, Cassie! There's so much to see and do in both cities. What do you think, fellow kitties?

Hello fellow kitties,

My name is Aroara, and my meowmie has recently brought a new big orange kitty into my home. I know I've never gone on any of these catmobile trips in the past, but I was wondering if it was too late to catch a ride on this one. I don't know much about baseball. My mom boycotts is due to something called a strike from 20 years ago. She can sure hold a grudge! But right now, I'm willing to go out on my own and learn about this game. Anything to get away from this Schroeder! Please let me know what I can bring. I will get some cash from Mum's wallet and pack my bags.

These trips are for all kitties, Aroara, WELCOME TO THE CATMOBILE! We'll come get you, don't worry! I've got you on the trip plan, and yes, Cassie, we will visit the Liberty Bell!

Today's the day, kitties, tell me who all is coming! We leave bright and early tomorrow for the all eastern World Series! :D See you soon!

I’m a bit fed up with my mom sneezing all the time, and she isn’t being quite as attentive as I would like, so a little trip is in order! I packed my things already and I’m ready to go!

As soon as my mom gets off the puter, I’ll book my flight... which airport should I ask for? Can anyone pick me up this time?

I’m so looking forward to see my friends and have some fun. :D

Fister, Groucho has made arrangements through the Philadelphia airport for anyone that needs to fly in, and we'll pick up all kitties there in the Catmobile. I'm sorry your Meowmie's been inattentive; there's another thread about kitty aboose and a class action lawsuit. We'll talk about it in the Catmobile! I'm sure this trip will cure your boredom!

Cassie, I forgot to mention in the other post, we'll see the Statue of Liberty, too. :)

Here's the schedule:

Gm 1 Philadelphia Phillies @ New York Yankees Wed Oct. 28
Gm 2 Philadelphia Phillies @ New York Yankees Thu Oct. 29
Gm 3 New York Yankees @ Philadelphia Phillies Sat Oct. 31
Gm 4 New York Yankees @ Philadelphia Phillies Sun Nov. 1
Gm 5* New York Yankees @ Philadelphia Phillies Mon Nov. 2

Hi there!!!
I've read about the catmobile adventures and sounds like tons of fun, so I would like to join you this time, if you have some space for moi...
(I have a lot of cans of light tuna that I can share)

I don't know what a world series is, or a series of what it is, but I'm sure some of you can kindly explain me; I know what a ball is though cause I have a lot of them to play.

Question: Can I get there via DHL??

Lovely as usual,

Sophie, of course we have room, glad you can join us! You don't have to travel in a box, though, just get on the flight to Philadelphia and the Catmobile will meet you there. The World Series is a lot of fun, with lots of food you can't have at home, and I'm sure you'll learn all about it before we get there. Edwina, of course, will advise you on what to wear! We all find out the latest trends from her on these trips! See you soon! :)

Hi Aroara and Sophie,
Of course there's plenty of room on the Catmobile and I'm thrilled that you both will be joining us. I also hope that you'll become regulars on our Catmobile trips. The trips are just us kitties, no purrents.

Sophie, forget about that box. The charter flight is on the way to pick you up along with other kitties. We'll see you at the Philadelphia Airport tomorrow.

Aroara, don't worry about a thing. We'll explain the baseball game to you.
Just one thing though, don't take any money from your Meowmie's wallet. They take a rather dim view of that.

Okay, the Catmobile has arrived and is ready to take off. Soncat helped me load it up when he got home from work. Get a good night's sleep because we have a very early start. For those who want to come, it's not too late. Call Pinot or me on our cell phones and we'll pick you up.

Fellow kitties, turn your cell phones on. We'll call you from the Catmobile when we get to your neighborhood.

Yankee Stadium, here we come!!!!!!

Well, I've had the first check in from Pinot the co-pilot and things are going according to plan. They've picked up most of the kitties at this point; they'll be stopping at LaGuardia for Lady Edwina and a few others who chose that airport, then they'll be headed for the Franklin Hotel in NY City Center. There will be a wine and cheese event where the kitties will get to know the VIP's (other than themselves) staying at the kitty friendly "european style boutique hotel". Pinot chose the accomodations for the European style. Then, it is breakfast tomorrow, on to the Met. for a special visit before they hit the ballpark...

for the 8pm game. It seems they're all excited and there hasn't been a quiet moment yet - everyone getting to check in with their friends (old and new)!

OK Meowmies and Dads- check in if you've heard from your babies!!:)

Just to keep the purrents updated, here's today's schedule after breakfast..on to the Met. Museum, where they'll be seeing:

Arts of Japan (10:45)
A presentation of the splendors of Japanese art at the Metropolitan Museum from the Neolithic period to the present.

A quick garden tour at the Cloisters, then...

Fashion in Art (1:45) - FOR LADY EDWINA!
"Fashion in Art" is a cross-cultural guided tour that focuses on the ways in which artists have used clothing to express identity and influence from the 6th century B.C. through modern times.

That will be it for the Met., then on to...

"The Top of the Rock" - the observation deck on the top of Rockefeller Center for a special reception where they'll enjoy a wonderful view and a bite to eat.

Then, the Catmobile will take them back to the Franklin, where they'll have a quick catnap and get ready to play ball at their private box for the World Series. The box is stocked with all kinds of food and drinks for them to have a great party! :D

Don't worry friends. Eddie called Sparkler who called Edwina who called Cassie who called MooShoo who called Aroara who called Pinot. Eddie is safely with the Catmobile crew.

Groucho says that in spite of some wet weather they all are having a great time. During the game they were snug and dry in their skybox that even has closed circuit tv! Even though team loyalty came out it was all in fun plus there are a few "friendly wagers". Groucho said when they got to the stadium they were taken on a tour of the locker room then Monument Park. Word is there might be a trip to the Fulton Fish Market.

It seems Cassie and Sophie huddled with the very careful Catmobile driver for quite some time. Hmm.....

Hi Purrents!
Your friend Groucho checking in. Everyone is fine and we're having an absolute blast here in the Bronx. What a game last night!!! We Yankees fans were very excited with the win. But we were even more excited about one of our fellow kitties, Sparkler caught a ball! You must have heard the cheers and applause we gave her. Before the game, the Yankees let us out on the field to run around the bases with them. What a treat! They learned a new technique for sliding on base from Sophie and Aroara plus MooShoo and Eddie shared a few tricks with Jorge Posada. Derek Jeter and Andy Petit had us entertained with their baseball stories. Then a big surprise, Joe Girardi treated all of us to a seafood feast at the Southstreet Seaport. Yummy :D

On to Philadelphia in the morning and there will be many napping kitties as the Catmobile cruises down the New Jersey Turnpike. After cheesesteaks at Penns Landing it's off to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Pinot got word that we'll be having a guided tour by Ben Franklin himself. From there to the stadium for game 3.

Cassie, Sophie, and Sparkler had another private conference with the Catmobile driver. Afterwards Sparkler and Eddie talked privately in a corner. None of us knows what's going on but Sophie borrowed Edwina's cell phone.

Stay tuned for updates.....

Hi Maggie, I'm sure they're fine. There was a lot for them to do today between going to Philly, having cheesesteaks for lunch, visiting independence Hall then getting to the stadium in time to settle in for the game. There has been talk of SEPTA going on strike at midnight and if they did, they most likely ran into some major traffic jams.

Hi Sophie! I'm so happy to know that you're having such a great time on your first Catmobile trip! Of course you already know what happens in the Catmobile stays in the Catmobile! Or so I've been told by Groucho and the other kitties.

For the Catmobile kitties checking your e-mail, here's something you need to remember. Last year in Philadelphia a poor puppy dog was tortured and burned. Poor puppy was in pretty bad shape when he got to the emergency vet. Chase Utley of the Phillies stepped up and paid for all the vet expenses the puppy dog needed to get better. If you get a chance to meet him, be sure to give him lots and lots of kitty kisses to thank him for helping a puppy dog in need. That was a wonderful thing for him to do.

On behalf of Yankees fans everywhere Sophie, welcome to our ranks! We're very happy to have you with us! Enjoy the rest of the trip!

Well, the Phillies pulled it out, we're headed back to the Bronx!! :)

I think Cassie, Sophie and Sparkler had some unfinished business in NYC, too.;)

We'll be back at the Franklin, today is a road trip day, boy is that keg MooShoo brought coming in handy! Fister is making especially good use of it. Edwina and I are still sticking with the Phillies, even though we're getting some ribbing from those Yankee kitties, Edwina has been in fashionable Phillies attire the whole time. She managed some time with the Phillies wives to discuss what was proper (for them, not our Edwina!). :)

This afternoon I have a special treat for the kitties (sshhh-they don't know); I have arranged for the Catmobile driver to take us to Brooklyn. My Daddy's Aunt Gussie lives there (he says she's OVER 90!) and she knows the BEST diners - she arranged for us to have supper at her favorite one! I know these kitties will have a great time - I hear the menu goes on forever!

That's about it for now; I'll check in later!

Dear kitty Purrents,
It seems our trip has been extended by vote. We will be on the road Sunday evening after all the festivities in NYC. Now I think I know what Sophie, Cassie, and Sparkler were up to. It seems the Catmobile driver had a line on some Canadian catnip mousies (I wonder where they came from!). They're denying any responsibility, but Fister seemed to find out the inside scoop. Even though the Phillies didn't win, we're having a great time, and both teams were very nice and generous with their time when we were in their towns.

Well, back to the party, see you soon!

Home at last! Fellow kitties, was this a trip to beat 'em all or what? First of all, I want to send an extra special thank you to our dear friend and co-pilot Pinot. Because of her expert planning and map reading, everyone had a ride and all points of interest were reached easily. All that and we never missed a moment of World Series action. And the action was non stop! This was a very exciting series, both teams played exceptionally well. Phillies fans, you have nothing to feel bad about. Your guys played great baseball, put everything they had into the game, and never gave up. Kudos to the Phillies for fighting the good fight!

Word has it that Bob won the World Series pool that many of the kitties participated in. Sparkler is still very excited about catching that ball, what a great catch, Sparkler, we're sooo proud of you!

The Phillies were gracious hosts when we were there. They let us sit in on their strategy session. It was Fister's suggestion on pitching that won game 5for them. Chase Utley received a Catmobile kitty thank you for helping that poor doggie last year and got an honorary ride in the Catmobile for his kindness.

Purrents, your kitties will be sleeping almost as soon as they walk in the door. So many parties, so much food, so many great people. Pinot, be sure to tell Aunt Gussie how much we loved visiting with her and sharing dinner together at her favorite diner. She gave each of us some scritchies before we left for the game. It's too bad she couldn't join us.

Okay fellow kitties, until our next Catmobile adventure to..............

Your friend,
Groucho

Yay, yay, yay! Cassie would LOVE to visit Vancouver for the Winter Olympics in February 2010! If it is okay with the other kitties she would like to see free-style skiing. If I were going, I would attend curling to learn how it is played.
